Including graduating seniors and early draft entries, and if everyone in the portal actually transfers (perhaps a big if--but also assuming no more last minute additions to the portal, and assuming all the seniors not in the portal stay for their extra year):
Detroit stands to lose 5 of 14 players who played in at least one game last year, including 4 of our top 6 in minutes played. However, assuming Isiani and Koka will not return, it really looks like we'll lose 7 of 14, including 5 of the top 7 in minutes played.
Cleveland State stands to lose 12 of 16 players who played in at least one game last year, including their top 4 and 5 of their top 6 in minutes played. However, the situation may not be so dire, as Spider Johnson (the team leader in minutes played), who has declared for draft, is not also in transfer portal, and should be back. Given the extreme unlikelihood of Al Eichelberger playing another season, however, you can still figure 13 of 16 departing.
Green Bay stands to lose 9 of 13 players who played in at least one game last year, including 4 their top 5 in minutes played. Green Bay also loses one red-shirted player who did not play in 2022.
IUPUI stands to lose 9 of 11 players who played in at least one game last year, including their top 3 and 9 of their top 10 in minutes played.
Milwaukee stands to lose 13 of 15 players who played in at least one game last year, including their top 6 and 8 of their top 9 in minutes played.
Northern Kentucky may be the best positioned team in the HL for 2023. The Norse stand to lose just 3 of 14 players who played in at least one game last year (although it also unlikely that little-used walk-on senior David Wassler will return). As it stands, the Norse look to return their top 5, and 9 of their top 10 (all but Adrian Nelson), in minutes played.
Oakland also looks pretty good so far, standing to lose 5 of 12 players who played in at least one game last year, but returning 7 of their top 8 in minutes played--all but Cain. They also lose 1 red-shirted player who did not play at all.
Purdue-Fort Wayne. Actually, the Mastodons are also looking quite stable, with their top 8 in minutes played eligible for another year and not in the portal or draft. PFW loses just 3 of 11 players who played in at least one game, but those were the bottom three in minutes played. The Mastodons also lose two red-shirted walk-ons who did not play last year. So far their roster looks quaintly old-fashioned--a couple red-shirt walk-ons deciding not to play another year, 1 guy graduating, and 2 little-used players transferring to greener pastures.
Robert Morris stands to lose 7 of 13 players who played in at least one game last year, but only 1 of their top 6 (#5 Kam Ferris) in minutes played. Two of those 7 leaving are last-year's mid-season departures Rasheem Dunn and Ferron Flavors.
Wright State stands to lose just 4 of 13 players who played in at least one game last year, but that includes their two stars, Holden and Basile. But they return the other six players who played at least 65 minutes on the season. It's also unlikely that walk-on senior Andy Neff returns for his bonus year.
Youngstown State stands to lose 6 of 13 players who played in at least one game last year. That includes 2 of their top 3 in minutes (both graduating super-seniors), but overall they return 5 of their top 7 in minutes played. They will also lose a pair of red-shirted scholarship players, one of whom played considerable minutes in 2021.
Overall, that's 76 (52.4%) of 145 Horizon League players who played in at least 1 game last year (not counting UIC) that have either graduated, entered the transfer portal, or entered the draft.

Great work as usual Commissioner. Except for Wright State it appears the HL is looking weak on paper with so many players leaving or graduating. On a much more positive sign that means this season will have plenty of opportunities to find new starters.

Most teams look weak because they have not replaced their departures. So the rosters are works in progress. And the new players are unknowns. Oh, they all look good on their highlight tapes because those are their highlights. We've replaced Matt Johnson with a more highly rated player coming out of very similar situation as Matt. Matt turned out to be pretty darn good for us. In the current era of college hoops, it's "Next man up." So, I will wait to see how this all plays out. I'm not happy about recent developments, but the players have more control now.

Well, this post dated quickly--at least the Detroit part. We're now looking at losing 8 of 14 players to transfer. Add in Willy and Koka, who presumably are not going to take their extra year, and we'll turn over 10 of 14.
