He'd have to get a waiver.

Was he injured at Michigan? Seems like he played the entire year...although sparingly.

Now Kirky is playing I've got a secret about CB medical issues at U-M. CB played 16 games that year. His bio says he played 15 games, but your point is valid. I never heard of a guy appearing in 15 games and still getting a redshirt. Of course, he only played 44 minutes that season, so maybe that's the rationale an appeal would use. I don't remember their being any injury, though. He just got passed up by better players as I recall. www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/brundidge_carlton00.html

I had never heard of any injury issue, and I'm pretty skeptical that they give CB another year. But I did some poking about: Ann Arbor News, Feb. 24, 2012: "In other injury news, Michigan freshman guard Carlton Brundidge returned to practice Thursday after missing the team's previous five games due to complications from asthma. Beilein said Brundidge -- who did not travel with the Wolverines to Northwestern on Tuesday -- was scheduled to work out again Friday, and could be available Saturday when Michigan hosts Purdue (6 p.m., BTN). "He was sick before our last trip, he had an upper respiratory infection, so he didn't make the trip," Beilein said. "He practiced (Thursday) and (could be) full-go (on Saturday).'" www.annarbor.com/sports/um-basketball/michigan-basketball-forward-jon-horford-officially-shut-down-for-the-season/Here's another: "As for Brundidge, the freshman guard from Southfield did not travel to East Lansing with the team Sunday prior to a loss at Michigan State due to complications with asthma. Beilein said Brundidge did not practice with the team Monday, and will continue to be monitored. "He tried some light shooting but did not feel very good, so getting well is the No. 1 objective," Beilein said. "I don't know enough about asthma and I'm not qualified to (get into detail about it), all I know is it's a very scary situation when you can't catch your breath.'" www.annarbor.com/sports/um-basketball/due-to-injuries-michigan-basketball-traveling-11-strong-to-nebraska-on-wednesday/I found a couple other reports on that February bout with asthma. Usually, to get an injury redshirt you can play in no more than 30% of a team's games, and none after the midway point of the season. CB fails both of those. So he's looking for both a 6th year with which to use his eligibility (usually you get just 5) and wants to have a season in which he played 15 games tossed out as a redshirt year. Seems doubtful to me, but we'll see. I suppose that's why they have a waiver process.

I've updated the roster chart on the first page of this thread based on announced signings.

Commish - the new center is Isaiah Jones. Although, I like the idea of Isaiah Wilson, a hybrid of Anton Wilson and Isaiah Jones - a 6'11' post player/defensive stopper that can rebound and block shots while also shooting the 3 ball with high accuracy.

With 11 scholarship players on board,, it would appear that there would be room for Jacob Joubert and Kameron Chatman. Of course, Kam would sit out 2016-17 and have. Two years remaining. This is how we would look:
C.....Blackshear, Jones PF....Hogan, Foster-Smith SF.....Jenkins, Long G......McFolley, Allen, Black, Williams, Grant, Joubert.
I like this look...How about you?

I'm starting to think the Joubert was making up his whole commitment thing on Twitter. He has since deleted the post, made his account private and now the account no longer exists! At best, he is probably a walk on (if he comes at all). I wouldn't mind the 7 footer Eichler for the last spot, if the staff thinks he can play (or be developed) and he wants to attend U of D. After all, 7 footers don't just grow on trees. It wouldn't surprise me if the last spot was just kept open (or used on a 5th year graduate transfer) so it would be available next season. The class of 2017 is when I am really anticipating BA, JJ and staff doing great things.

The other site has me so fed up with it's inability to load (both at home, work and phone), general slowness, and deleting my posts once I hit submit, making me re- log in and retype the post, so for now, I'm posting only here. Here it is, your 2016-17 official roster and bios: detroittitans.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball Edit: and just like that, it's working fine again. So frustrating.....

Kam Chatman not invited to NBA combine. Surprise. Surprise. Surprise. He should be back. He's smart enough to know the best thing for his pro career stock is to average 20ppg at UDM, rather than grad transfer to a p5 school and average 8-10ppg.

As bad as our team is going to be next year, if Kam comes back he could make it into our thousand point club.
