Cleveland is beating the hell out of us physically. Are we tough enough to survive? The refs seem to be getting tired of their game. If we can take care of the ball we should get some FTs this half. Shortly after Tom posted this the refs decided maybe this shouldn't turn into a rugby scrum and began calling some fouls. That was a huge factor in our regaining the momentum. But the team really rose to the occasion, played tough, hit big shots, didn't fold when the star went down. I really like LeGreair's stabilizing effect on the team. I like seeing Waterman rip a rebound away from Gomillion. I wonder if anyone in the country is better at taking charges than Willy. He has a real sense for where the attacking player is going to go. When Matt Johnson gets his game face on he's awesome. When AD went out I thought, Johnson is going to hit some big shots. And he did. That late three by DJ from the corner was a very difficult and GREAT shot under pressure. Nice all around. Johnson’s parents were in town for tonight’s game, it was cool to watch his mom jump for joy with each big basket he made. His role has expanded significantly with Akec out of the lineup and he has really stepped up to the challenge/opportunity.

When Antione came back from the locker room to return to the court area, the Calihan crowd roared! It reminded me of the Willis Reed moment in Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals. He promptly returned to the lineup and hit a clutch three with 50 seconds left in the game to help the Titans seal the deal.

Great win tonight. I was happy to see coach Davis with a smile on his face and to see him wrap his arms around Willy and AD at the end of the game. Thats one of the rare times I've seen him happy.

This is what makes college hoops the best. This is what makes being a Titan fan the best. It might not seem so when losing and empty arenas smack us in the face all the time. But it's true.
To step up to the physical challenge of Cleveland's tactics, and to respond to the mental challenge of getting back up (not just AD but Willie and Noah) -- that's what playing as a team is all about. Noah seems like he's gaining some toughness. Johnson is playing like a senior who wants to go out a winner.
MD seems to be doing a great job of subbing. When guys come in, they usually contribute, whether it's for 8 minutes or just 2 minutes.
And Antoine is moving up in my ranks lately. It's not his point total in the box score. It's his overall play, his heart, hitting the big shots when you need them. That last moment is the kind that will ring for a long time in Titan History if we can build off tonight's accomplishments.
As I said earlier today: let's ride this train to a Championship. Let's pull out all the stops and play above our heads for the rest of the season. Next step, UIWPWPWPU. Proud to be a Titan...forever.

Great win, great crowd atmosphere (for its size) … nice ovation at CSU’s early timeout, very noticeable quiet when Antoine went down and then the loudest noise for his return to the court and then the final dagger. Fun!!!
Lots of great contributions, but Kyle LeGreair’s game really stood out for me - one of the most impactful scoreless games I can remember, with some important rebounds, steals, assists with consistently tough and smart play in 17 minutes.

Has AD had every TO for us so far? Davis ended with three of the team's 12 turnovers. He also led the team with five of the team's 17 assists.

Let's win Saturday and sweep the top 4 HL teams in a row on our home floor. The Titans can do it on Senior Day but probably won’t be easy. Purdue Fort Wayne clinched a bye in the first round of the Horizon League tournament after defeating Oakland 81-70 tonight. The win is the Mastodons' eighth consecutive victory. A win at Calihan combined with a Cleveland State loss at Oakland on Saturday would give the 'Dons a share of the 2021-22 Horizon League regular season championship.

I’m not certain but the win over Detroit might have started their 8 game winning streak. I went to that game, and they were pretty good. But now it’s our home court and we’ve been playing better lately as well. If we beat them they will only be ahead of us by just a small winning percentage which we squandered not playing and winning just 3 of those 4 Covid games. Go Titans!!

We play at 1:00 on Saturday, CSU at 3:00. I was kind of hoping it would be the other way around, so that CSU could beat Oakland and clinch outright before a deflated PFW stepped on the court. Assuming we win, we'll have to wait until late to know about the 1st round bye--WSU plays RMU at 7:00.

It was a great drama filled night at Cali Hall. Cleveland battling back to take control of the game (for about a couple of seconds) but are Titan snatched it right back. Twon having a bad collision and than later hurting what appeared to be his left shoulder. When that happen the crowd was silent as he belted in pain and left the court but to miraculously (like a dead man raising from his grave 40 days later) came running back out to the court. Then two plays later to put a DAGGER in Cleveland State beyond the arch with 0:49 seconds to go. And than there was are student section jawing back and forth with the Cleveland fans at courtside. Both sides trying to show there teams dominance in a one game elimination. As the CSU fans knew it was over they couldn't help but to have a bad taste of the Titans in there mouth like vomit they just started spitting out "We In First, We In First".
To Be Continued ..................
