I'm not an MSU fan, but I'm really looking forward to this one. I am so impressed by Texas Tech. Just a tough, tough defensive team

To the relief of many Spartan fans, including me, Rocket Watts signed his NLI with Michigan State today. When he didn't sign in November there was concern that he was having second thoughts.

Nick Ward declares for the NBA draft and hires an agent. That doesn't mean what it used to mean, but it appears that he plans on ending his MSU career, rather than just "testing the waters".
Cassius Winston decided that he is going to not even test the waters; he's coming back to State for his senior year.

MSU junior guard Cassius Winston is graduating this week with a bachelor's degree in Advertising Management. Check the scoreboard for his three years at Michigan State: Two conference championships, a trip to the Final Four, All American recognition, Big Ten player of the year, and a degree. Pretty nice haul.
Amazing he could have done so much without leaving Michigan for one of those out of state basketball factories!

Marquette transfer Joey Hauser committed to Michigan State. He is expected to sit out the coming season. Averaged ten points per game this past season as a freshman.

Nope. Big brother went to Virginia. Funny, but last week conventional wisdom had them most definitely going to Wisconsin.

Michigan State was originally planning a summer trip, but according to reports they have decided against it. Makes sense, as I could see them needing that kind of trip next summer more than this one.

Positive injury related news for the Spartans from Twitter. Kyle Aherns will likely be counted on to provide senior leadership and solid play next season. And they definitely need Langford's scoring.
Chris Solari: MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo said Kyle Ahrens (ankle/back) has been full-go the past week, adding "that's encouraging." Says Joshua Langford will start working out in full in less than 2 weeks and that "everything has gone really smooth for him."

Former Spartans Matt McQuaid and Matt Costello are on the Detroit Pistons Summer League team.
