From Jon Rothstein on Twitter: "The NCAA has found no violations within Michigan State's basketball and football programs in conjunction with the Larry Nassar situation, per release."
And From John Goodman on Twitter: "NCAA clears Michigan State of any “substantiated violations” after inquiries into school’s handling of Larry Nassar and also student conduct into men’s basketball and football programs following ESPN report."

Izzo follows the Rocket Watts commitment by landing a verbal from 6-7 forward Malik Hall. Hall is ranked right around #50 in the class of 2029 by the ranking services. He plays at Sunrise Academy in Kansas and had a "final three" of MSU, Purdue and Oregon.

State should be an interesting team this year, especially as I think they'll be more well rounded then in past seasons. The Freep had a good article hitting on this as the offense won't be stagnant as it all flowed thru the athletic but inconsistent Bridges. Bridges always impressed as a young man and as a pure athlete, but I didn't like how he played offense. He often would linger on the perimeter and either toss up a long 3, or try to use his athleticism to get to the rim. In general it came across as more forced than anything.
Nick Ward needs more PT, and confidence. He was always looking over his shoulder at angry Izzo and just waiting for the hook to the bench to happen.
Otherwise, State needs to be a well rounded team with the collection of talent they have. Each guy playing their roles and performing. I keep wanting to like Langford more, perhaps this year he will burst out.

He shot the ball very well last night against Kansas in a tough loss. I didn't see the game, but I saw he only played 29 minutes, and I am guessing that foul trouble cut into his time. A five point loss to Kansas in a game where the Spartans missed 12 free throws and Winston and Ward combined to shoot 5-18 from the floor, is disappointing, but also encouraging. Not sure if there will be many games where the Spartans shoot that poorly. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/boxscore?gameId=401082470

Despite being overshadowed in this media market by U of Michigan coverage, the Spartans are playing some good basketball. Izzo's team has won 19 straight Big Ten games, including 11 straight on the road. The Spartans are the first Power 6 team this year to rack up six true road wins.

The Spartans have continued winning despite injuries to Josh Langford, Matt McQuaid and Kyle Aherns. Cassius Winston and Nick Ward have been picking up the slack, and the Spartans have been getting some good contributions from freshman Aaron Henry. The contributions of Kenny Goins shouldn't be overlooked. Goins is averaging 9.6 rebounds on the season, and in Monday's win over Maryland he grabbed 12 rebounds, making it four straight games with 10 plus boards, which hadn't been done by a Spartan since Matt Costello a few years ago.
The Spartans next game will be another test, Thursday on the road against a hot Iowa team.

In another big injury blow, center Nick Ward has a fractured hand and will be out for an extended period.
