Great effort! If we could only shoot free throws!!!! This one was lost at the line. I always felt the Europeans were for the most part better than average ft shooters but we found one who can’t!!

What I got out of the postgame.
Execution was the problem. We did well when we executed. We didnt play well when we didnt execute. Executing and execution was the key. We should execute but we cant execute and our guys cant score. We're shorthanded with a bunch of guys that cant score. That makes it difficult to execute.
Last time we played NKU they just made layups because we have a bunch of guys that really shouldnt play college basketball. Earl and Coach decided a couple weeks back that we should just play pick up basketball because we're no good.
Earl loved Antoine and Antoine is great. Antoine wishes he could have scored 24 for Earl the other night.
Then, I got a phone call.

What a train wreck. Didn’t watch the game but followed on espn gamecast. Not sure if the game felt close when actually watching, but that run near the end must have had the guys thinking they had a chance. Must suck going back the hotel 0-25 and living this nightmare. At least this is the last multiple game road trip for the guys.

Once again I forgot the titans were playing tonight. I must remember to cancel my ESP/Disney/Hulu subscription.

Nearly had 3 players score 20+ again yesterday. Execution on the offensive end certainly wasnt the problem, save for a handful of free throws and some unnecessary turnovers.
Defensive execution was probably where the comments stemmed from. Second chance points for Wright State helped lose us the game.

The on-court issue that has bothered me the most throughout the entire MD era has been our poor defense. We simply do not play consistently strong defense (ever) and we rarely make the big stop. We had several chances to make a big stop last night down the stretch and yet Wrong State scored every time they needed to.
This year, there's an additional issue with our porous defense -- we can't rebound. When you break down defensively, that's one thing. This year we've added a second major issue -- we'll play good defense on a possession, force a miss, then give up an offensive rebound. Sometimes we'll do that two or three times on the same possession.
I have no idea if finding a defensive-minded head coach and trying to find defensive-minded players who will work hard to create a cohesive defensive style is realistic anymore. Hard hat defense used to be the "Detroit Way," but now a defense that looks like a sieve has become the "Detroit Mercy way."

Nice comeback in a tough 92-85 loss. Hard to win a game like that with a short roster. You burn a lot of energy coming back, and that catches up at the end.
The good: Two guys with 20, most notably Tank with a monster game, putting up career highs in points, steals, and assists. Mak had another promising performance, hitting a career high 20 points, including 5-7 from distance. Del Cadia was six of six from the floor. Stone picked up in the second half after a slow start.
The bad: Zero bench points and only 14 total rebounds. Only two boards in 36 minutes for Del Cadia. Could have used some production from Davis, but he only had 8 minutes and two fouls. I'm not sure why Oaks didn't play.
It was a better game than I expected, and the Titans outscored the Raiders 53-42 in the second half.

There seem to be enough players to be competitive, this is just a poorly coached team
