The Vikings picked up a promising player with Jon Harris transferring in from Miami-OH.
He averaged 8.5 ppg each of the last two seasons at Miami. Good three point shooter, at 39%, but only a 65% free throw shooter.

Huge blow to Cleveland State as it is confirmed that Junior Lomomba is transferring. There were rumors of this way back in March, but nothing official ever announced. Lomomba was the #1 recruit in the Horizon Class of 2012, but was hampered last year by injuries.

www.clevelandleader.com/node/20980"Cleveland State's biggest recruiting grab in two decades has decided to transfer away from the school. Junior Lomomoba, a combo guard from Milwaukee, had originally decided to become a Viking after rejecting offers from bigger name schools such as UCLA and Cincinnati."

That's a blow to the Vikings to be sure. That was quite a coup they pulled off to sign him in the first place.

Jon Harris got a waiver making him eligible to play this year. That will soften losing Lomomba in 2013-14.
He's averaged 8.5 points and just over 4 rebounds per game the last two seasons at Miami. Will have just the 1 year eligibile at CSU.

Another pick up for the Vikings - looks like they're going to land guard Andre Yates, a transfer from Creighton. He'll sit out 2013-14. CSU is setting up for a huge 2014-15 season, and is good enough to steal the Horizon this year.

Here's a big one - the word is that Bryn Forbes may be leaving Cleveland State and transferring to Michigan State. Forbes, a second team all-Horizon selection this season as a sophomore, is a Lansing native and apparently has an out-of-wedlock child living with the mother in Lansing. This was originally tweeted by Steve Schwanda of AlleyesonUhoops, who later tweeted it was not a done deal. At least one poster on the CSU board, however, says it is a done deal.
Personally, I think Forbes is a bit overrated. But no doubt this will really hurt.

Cleveland State just missed out on what would have been a great pick up. 2014 center Isaiah Manderson, who originally committed to Oregon State before their coach was fired, committed to Texas Tech on Friday. He had a final four of Texas Tech, Temple, Oregon, and Cleveland State. The fact that the Vikings were in the mix down to the wire against that competition is a sign of how good a job they do at recruiting.

Cleveland State loses another piece.
Jeff Goodman @goodmanespn 49m49 minutes ago Cleveland State transfer Anton Grady told ESPN he has heard from: Kansas, K-State, Iowa St, Xavier, Pitt, Wichita St, Dayton, NC State, Neb.

A lineup of Anton Grady, Junior Lomomba, Trey Lewis, Bryn Forbes, and Kaza Keane might be a bit weak on the front line, but would still have the look of a Horizon champ. But it looks like the first 4 will be playing next year for Wichita State, Providence, Louisville, and Michigan State.
Give Gary Waters credit for landing some great recruits. In the old days-- like a decade ago -- Cleveland State would be readying for a big run in 2016. Sadly, I fear we are well into the last phase of the destruction of mid-major ball by the bigs.
