Per Verbal Commits, Greg E to Northeastern. Thanks for posting Sam. Not the news we wanted, but pretty much what we were expecting (were we even recruiting him this summer??)

Bummer. He could've done the dirty work down low, while our guard heavy line up worked on the perimeter. Alas we move on.
I'd have to think we looked at him in some capacity. Perhaps Coach didn't like the idea of him sitting out a year? Hard to know for sure. We are extending offers to local kids (not just southern kids that were probably already on Coach's radar), so I've got to think Coach quickly got his pulse on the MI scene, AAU teams (Greg was on The Family I believe), etc.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Greg E did not want to go to college in the metro Detroit area? This is his third college commitment in less than 2 years, UIC, Illinois, and now Northeastern. There has never been any information from a third party source claiming that he was interested in us.

McCullough to Cal-Berkeley Wow. Quite a step. From literally nothing a month ago, to Niagara a week ago, to the PAC 12. Former California G Austin McCullough is transferring to City College of San Francisco (JUCO).

Sounds like he'll be on the D-I market next year. Cal was probably a reach all along. But a mid major can do worse than a tall guard who can shoot threes.

Detroit native Greg Elliot, who signed with Marquette in the class of 2017 and showed promise as a freshman, tore a ligament in his thumb and is expected to miss 8-12 weeks. Poor guy. I hate to see a player get injured.

Eric Williams, a guy who was pretty much there for taking if we'd offered, was just projected as Second Team All-Conference in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.

We weren't the only school that missed out on him, but that one still stings. Per his bio on the team website, he didn't have another D1 offer before signing with Duquesne. His accomplishments last season were astounding. goduquesne.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=5005

That's a little higher of a level than I was expecting. I was thinking MAC level, which in my mind (& I could be wrong) is a bit lower than C USA.

Amauri Hardy of UNLV and Malik Ellison of Eastern Michigan are now both officially confirmed as having placed their names on the NCAA transfer portal.
