That looks like an interesting discussion.
However, I don't trust anything that Jay Bilas says since he was raving about how great Darko was going to be.

Oakland commitment:
"Looks like Kampe snagged another one of his top offseason targets, 6’8” Forward Buru Naivalarua a native Australian out of Garden City Community College (Same JUCO that Tone Hunter attended). This looks like a very solid addition to the roster, ranked #29 JUCO player for 2023 and gives Oakland an explosive athletic rebounding big who can score as well. Had offers from Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island, Tulsa, Iona, Tarelton State, Montana State, Cal State Bakersfield, Texas State, East Tennessee State, Samford, Portland, Iona, Cal State Fullerton and Southern Indiana."
14.8 ppg 10.2 rpg 2.9 apg

Hope the same goes for Coach Davis getting some hope and help replacing that energy on the court. I will miss him even if he came off the bench in 2023-24. We need a captain to lead us!

The 15,000-square-foot facility will be on Oakland's West Campus, at the old Baker College. The facility, to be named the Varsity Basketball Training Center, will be in an existing building. That building will be renovated. "The Board of Trustees' decision to fund the renovation of the basketball practice facility is a game-changer for both basketball programs and the most significant advancement for the basketball programs since we entered the Division I era," men's basketball coach Greg Kampe said in a statement (he's currently in Europe on vacation).

The $5 million cost includes an allocation for deferred maintenance, so the actual cost of construction is likely less than $5 million for a 15,000 square foot facility. It is being funded out of university reserves.

The Grizzlies got a commitment from JUCO card Jack Hoth for the class of 2024. Great JUCO stats: 19 ppg on 55/42/76 percent shooting. 6-4, 180 with offers from Kansas City and Bryant. That's the third high production JUCO player that Oakland has landed this spring/summer. pioneers.wosc.edu/sports/mbkb/2022-23/players/jackhoth7bb2

Isiah Jones had 2pts and 3 rebs in 10 mins of action. I took a look at the box score of that game, and that was one of three lines that jumped out at me. I also noticed that Rocket Watts scored 7 points in 22 minutes, going 3-8 from the floor (1-3 from 3). Dre Polk played only 3 minutes, going scoreless with a rebound. I don't know if he was injured during the game, but I expected him to be more productive. I know he didn't start. Jones was a guy I wish would have stuck around. I wanted Watts to commit to the Titans each time he hit the portal. Polk is a player I wanted to join the Titans since he was in high school. I would have thought each one of them would do better against a D2 program, even a good D2 program like Walsh. Especially in a game that OU ended up losing.
