Here is the combined Horizon League record last year (not including Loyola or Oakland) against non-conference opponents in the following RPI brackets:
1-50: 3-15 51-100: 5-7 101-150: 9-11 151-200: 7-11 201-250: 5-6 251-300: 9-6 301-345: 18-0 Non DI: 14-0
I was really surprised that we had losing records against teams in the 151-250 range, and weren't all that great against #s 251-300. This reiterates a point I've made elsewhere: the Horizon's relatively strong conference RPI last year came from scheduling and beating bad teams - not from tough scheduling. People who get too hung up on Non-Con SOS may someday get what they want, and find it's not paradise.
*FWIW, Loyola was 0-50: 0-1 51-100: 0-0 101-150: 0-3 151-200: 1-0 201-250: 3-0 251-300: 1-0 301-345: 4-0 Non DI: 1-0

Here was the final Horizon record in 2013-14 in non-conference competition, by opponent's RPI:
1-50: 1-18 51-100: 3-18 101-150: 7-4 151-200: 4-9 201-250: 14-5 251-300: 13-7 301-349: 7-2 Non DI: 20-0
Pretty dismal against top 100 teams.

Ouch. That is pretty bad.
