I was looking to see how Kalil Chatman did last year at Pacific. Their site shows nothing and he isn't on their Verbal Commits Chart. I wonder if Papa Chatman tried another package and got a no from Stodemire. I also noticed he listed Detroit and Mercy as two separate offers in his bio.

I didn't hear anything about him taking official visits or new offers coming in during his senior year in high school. I actually thought he might end up at a JUCO for a couple of years. Seems like he was a talented guy, but there must have been something going on behind the scenes.

I didn't hear anything about him taking official visits or new offers coming in during his senior year in high school. I actually thought he might end up at a JUCO for a couple of years. Seems like he was a talented guy, but there must have been something going on behind the scenes. Chatman enrolled in Pacific last June but sometime by mid-September was gone. No announcement, nothing. The Pacific fan board was equally bewildered. Chatman continues to tweet regularly, sometime retweeting things from Pacific players. I wasn't about to wade through all his tweets, but I glancing through I saw nothing that would explain anything. Kind of interesting: Also last June Chatman filed a $500,000 lawsuit against Sunglass Hut, alleging false arrest and race discrimination after he was accused of stealing a pair of sunglasses--basically, a complaint of "shopping while black." But after the original complaint, I found no other press references (kind of surprising, because there were a bunch of stories on June 22-24, so it was sort of big news) or court documents (Multnomah Court records, where it was filed, don't appear to be on line). Although I don't think this is the case, we can't rule out the other possibility--perhaps it ultimately turned out to be a case of "shoplifting while shopping," and that became an issue at Pacific. Like I say, I doubt it--according to the complaint, Sunglass Hut found the allegedly stolen merchandise elsewhere in the store, and Chatman's lawyer was a very reputable trial lawyer. But I guess it's possible. Maybe Chatman flunked out of summer school. Or maybe he just decided he really didn't want to attend college. Anyway, he doesn't appear to have played anywhere last year.

Appears that Papa Chatman had a hand in misdirecting Khalil,s career...similar to the JJJ story. If I recall, The Chapman youngsters went back and forth from Portland to Long Beach HSS.......rarely attended the same school two years in a row. At least, Coach Davis kept Antoine close and at home.

I liked him a lot as a high school recruit and he had a very good freshman year. I have no idea why he would want to transfer. Cleveland State looked like a perfect spot for him.

Out of all the transfer/decommit possibilities from TSU, he is my 1st choice. Yes, Antoine Davis was my first choice, but Harge is my favorite out of the remaining possibilities. Damon Harge enrolled this summer at North Platte Community College.

Corey Hightower has entered the transfer portal. Hightower ended up staying at Presbyterian. Guess the grass wasn't greener upon closer reflection. The transfer portal makes it easy to decide to transfer, but it won't help you find a suitable home.

Watching Hightower play tonight. He’s a really good player. He’s a “Blue Hoe” for Presbyterian.

What happened with all the guys that the Titans reportedly offered in the Class of 2018? Bear in mind most of these offers, assuming they were accurate, would have been made by Bacari, not Coach Davis.
1. Adrian Nelson, 6-6 SF, Pickerington, OH. Northern Kentucky. Originally signed with the Titans, then released when BA was fired. Not a bad season last year, playing in 30 games for the HL champs, averaging just 3 points and 3 rebounds but hitting over 60% of his shots. With NKU short of bigs, I expected him to step up this year, but he hasn't--he's played in just 6 of Northern's 9 games. Looks to me like the kind of situation that may lead to a transfer after the season.
2. Cory Hightower, 6-6 SF, Flint., Meadowcreek, Ga. Presbyterian. Went to Presbyterian after being released from commitment with Titans on firing of Bacari. Made the Big South all-freshman team after averaging 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds. This year is leading the Blue Hose in scoring at 13.9 ppg.
I think Nelson and Hightower were good recruits for us. But Bacari seemed lost on the coaching side. And who knows what to make of the next guy, who looked like a possible talent...
3. Khalil Chatman, 6-7 SF, Portland, Ore (Jefferson). Enrolled at Pacific, but never played. Has since disappeared.
4. PJ Mitchell, 5-10 PG, Detroit Loyola. Central Michigan. Redshirted in 2018-19. Has appeared in just 5 games this year, with most of his minutes against NAIA opponents UM-Dearborn, Siena Heights, and Trinity Christian, and winless SWAC team Mississippi Valley State. He played 1 minute of garbage time against Minnesota.
5. Thomas Kithier, 6-8 C/PF, Macomb Dakota. Michigan State. After playing regularly (31 games) but sparingly (6 minutes per game) last year, was expected to step up in 2019-20. Sorta has... he's averaging 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16 minutes per game.
6. David DeJulius, 6-2 PG, East English. Michigan. Saw sparse action in 25 games for the Wolverines last year, but has emerged as a key rotation player this year, averaging over 8 points in over 23 minutes per game.
7. Shareef O'Neal, 6-9 F, Los Angeles, Cal. UCLA. One of Ray's super early offers. Son of Shaq missed last season with a heart problem. Is averaging about 3 points in about 10 minutes per game for the Bruins this year.
8. Davion Williams, 6-0 SG, Belleville. Michigan State for football. Was redshirted last year, didn't play much this year. Maybe shoulda stuck with hoops.
9. Gabe Brown, 6-6 SG/F, Belleville. Michigan State. Forced his way into the back of the rotation last year, and this year is 5th on the team in minutes played, averging 8 points and hitting over 40% of his threes.
10. Mario Whitley, 6-4 SF/G, Frankenmuth. A first-team Class B all-stater, Whitley had MAC and Horizon offers. He originally signed with Saginaw Valley State, then decided to attend Mineral Area CC, a top juco program in Missouri. The he disappears. No evidence I can find that he played for Mineral or anywhere else.
11. Brandon Johns, 6-8 PF, East Lansing. Michigan. After modest action as a freshman (28 games, 4 mpg) he's averaging 13 minutes and 3 points as the 2nd or 3rd man off the bench in Ann Arbor.
12. Trevion Williams, 6-8 C, Detroit Henry Ford. Purdue. Averaged 5 points and 4 rebounds as a freshman; now 7 and 5 as a soph.
13. Quinn Blair, 6-6 F, Dearborn Devine Child. William & Mary. Played in 19 games as a freshman. This year is averaging 5 points in about 15 minutes per game.
14. Duane Washington, 6-2 G, Grand Rapids Christian. Ohio State. Starting guard for the 6th ranked Bucs, averaging 11 ppg.
15. Brandon Wade, 6-0 PG, Ann Arbor Skyline. Duquesne. Played in 27 games last year, starting 1, averaged just 1 ppg. Entered the transfer portal this summer and has left Duquesne, but I can't find that he's enrolled anywhere.
16. Amari Kelly, 6-9 F, Norcross, Ga., Meadowcreek. Duquesne. Teammate of Cory Hightower in HS, played in 29 games at Duquesne last year, averaging 2 ppg. He's been out this year with a knee injury.
17. Rashad Williams, 6-3 PG, Wayne Memorial. Cleveland State. Made the Horizon League's all-freshman team, then transferred to Oakland. Was denied immediate eligibility, which he has reportedly appealed, but the season is getting on.
18. Markese Hastings, 6-6 SF, Wyoming Godwin Heights. Butler. Was red-shirted last year, and then injured his hip in the off-season and is out indefinitely.
19. Seth Millner, 6-6 SG/SF, Grand Rapids Christian. Cleveland State. Was a starter last year for Cleveland State, averaging 7 points and 5 rebounds. Joined the exodus this summer, choosing to transfer to NW Florida State JC, and presumably will rejoin D-1 with some mid-major club next year.
20. Bryce Washington, 6-4 G, Southfield Christian. Penn. Had a strong freshman season, averaging 7.5 points and 20 minutes per game. Has seen his PT cut in half this year, though, and is the 8th man in an 8 man rotation at Penn, averaging 3.7 ppg.
21. Lamar Norman, 6-1 G, Godwin Heights. Duquesne. One of the 1st two off the bench, is averaging 6 points for Duquesne. Averaged 5 points last year in 27 games.
22. B.J. Simmons, 6-2 PG, Cedar Hill, Tx, via Next Level Hoops Academy (Wichita). Trinity Valley CC. After a year in the juco ranks, signed with Idaho, and is second on the team in scoring at 10.9 ppg.
23. Jesse Barnes, 6-8 PF, Otero (Colo.) JC. Univ. of Victoria (Can.). Played at University of Victory last year but is not on their roster this year.
24. Tray Jackson, 6-8 F, Detroit Western. Reclassified to 2019; committed to Minnesota, then decommitted and went to Missouri. Averaging 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds a a back-end of the rotation player.
