Barry Hayes @hoopstarscanada 1h Big comeback win for the Ottawa Gee-Gees. They move to 3-0 vs. NCAA D1 competition with a 79-76 victory over Illinois-Chicago. Junior Gabe Snyder, who hasn't played a lot the last two years, had 28 points for UIC, hitting 8 of 12 from 3 points. Their touted freshman Tai Odiase played 17 minutes but had 0 points and 0 rebounds. UIC is working a lot of players in this year - they've got 4 JC transfers, 2 true freshmen (including Odiase), and Lance Whitaker, an injury redshirt freshman who was a highly touted recruit a year ago, but was limited to just 3 games by injury. They are getting much better (rougher?) workout in Canada than the Titans are likely to get. Ottawa was Canadian national runner up last year; tonight they play the defending national champion, Carlton. These are defintely better quality than the Titans will see. Although the scenery is much better in British Columbia.

Hope he has a good career there. Imagine that, a Michigan kid who stayed in Michigan and managed to get noticed and land at a Big East school. Who knew you could still do that?

Lots of new players on both sides. I'm surprised that Odiase had an ineffective stint. It's early, though; I expect him to be pretty good. Snyder came out of nowhere, didn't he?
