ESPN thinks Washington could be back in the tournament. That would be good for head coach Romar, who is a victim of his earlier success, which raised fans expectations. The Huskies Had made the NCAA tournament ten times in the 80 plus years before Romar arrived in 2002-03. In Lo's 13 years at the helm, the Huskies have made six NCAA tournaments (3 Sweet Sixteen appearances), 3 NITs, and one CBI. His only losing record was in year one. Of course, it's a "what have you done for me lately" business, and UW hasn't made the NCAA tournament since 2011, going to the NIT three times in that stretch. The fans are getting restless, and some are dreaming of that "young up and coming coach" to take the team to the "next level". espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/115416/looking-ahead-washington-equipped-to-break-ncaa-drought

UCLA suffers a loss to their 2016 recruiting class, as Kobe Paras, who had signed an letter of intent, was not admitted to the university. As we have noticed before, that doesn't just happen to U of D.

A second traditional Pac 12 power suffered a loss in their 2016 class. Terrance Ferguson, a five star recruit who signed with Arizona, is going to Australia to play professionally. It had been rumored that Ferguson was not going to be academically eligible. He attended Prime Prep Academy, one of those prep schools that has been under scrutiny for sub par academics. A few players who went there have been ruled ineligible for college in recent years.

Washington pulls in a top 100 recruit as their first commit for the class of 2017, a shooting guard from the Seattle area. Coach Romar had seemed to hit a lull in recruiting for a period of a few years, but if the classes of 2015 and 2016 are any indication, he's got his mojo back. With five star targets Michael Porter, Jr. and Trae Young in his sights, the 2017 class could be his best in a long time. I'm a fan of Romar, so I hope this year's team gets back to the NCAA tournament and sets up a long period of success. www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-huskies/garfield-junior-jaylen-nowell-commits-to-uw/
