Jeremiah Francis committed to North Carolina. They just offered him last week. Recall that in addition to being a pretty attractive offer, Francis's teammate from last year, Sterling Manley, is a freshman there. Did I put this in the wrong section? Feels like I maybe put it in 2018 originally. Thanks for moving it. I remember seeing Manley play at Belleville High School last near and thinking he wasn't very good. A friend of mine who is a big NC fan told me that he was struggling with an injury. Still, North Carolina isn't expecting a lot out of him this year, according to my friend. Props to Francis for knowing what he wanted and not stringing out the process. And since I cheer for North Carolina, good luck to him in college.

I think Manley might be over-recruited at UNC. He was generally listed as a three star, and he's at a school that recruits 4 stars. But he's good, and he's big, and just like we'll take a chance on that at our level, UNC will at its level. I wish him well.
It would be nice if we could open that recruiting pipeline to Pickerington, because they've become a real Ohio powerhouse in the last 5 years or so. We've got an offer out to Adrian Nelson in the class of '18 and we've scouted a couple other guys there, and some have attended our elite camp. Just gotta get someone to commit.

Titans were one of the first to offer guard Harlond Beverly, but his stock's been rising all summer. Yesterday he got the offer from Michigan State. He got his first high major offer, from Baylor, at the start of the week.

Armstrong is well traveled. He left Flint previously to go to an out of state prep school, and then returned to enroll at Davison. Now, he's on the move again.

Pete Kahler was in to see Ann Arbor Skyline guard Ryan Wade today I doubt it would happen, but wouldn't it be great if we could get the Wade Brothers, Ryan (2019) and Brandon (2018), as a package deal.

Steve Bell reports on an interesting and very under the radar player in the Michigan class of 2019 - 6'9" Luke Maranka, who's Home Schooled. Bell's write up, from his Bankhoops all state camp where he names him MVP, is below. Based on how hard it is to find skilled big men, he could be someone that we should be in on: bankhoops.com/all-state-camp-top-prospect-team-2/

I like the "fun to play with" and "best passing big" stuff a lot. Has UDM been friendly to home schoolers in its general admissions? We home schooled our kids. Some colleges were very home school friendly, others were not. Home schoolers know the difference and would be unlikely to pick a college from the latter category. (In the FWIW category, our home schooled kids went to Dartmouth and Hillsdale. One we did not home school went to Toledo.)

BA is at the U of D Jesuit vs OL St Mary's game tonight. Could be for Jalen Thomas or Daniel Friday or a number of other D1 prospects in a couple different recruiting classes. Or he could be there just to pick up some knowledge on the basics of teaching team defense😁
