910 does have a strong signal. I can pick it up in Iron Mountain which is a little over 500 mi. from the station. I would rather watch on ESPN3 when I can't attend but wondering what changes are coming on ESPN3 by the Horizon League.

I listened to a good chunk of one of the UIC games on 910 AM while driving back from Indiana one night. I'm glad it reaches up to Iron Mountain. That station works out really well for me when I am in the car and it works out well for my parents, who are Titan fans but don't get out at night as much as they used to. It will be interesting to see what happens with ESPN and the HL this season. Seems like changes are coming.

Good news. I enjoy having the television option, especially since scheduling conflicts have made it harder for me to get to all the Calihan Hall for games the past two seasons. Even when I was going to the games, I would record them for later viewing.

speaking of radio station 910, its really starting to come alive. as a result of a speed button to the station for titan games, i listened in the car for lack of the energy to change stations. the morning talk hosts, nolan finley and jack lessenberry, are two of the best in detroit radio for fair evenhanded reporting. chuck bennet’s happy hour on the ride home is like sitting at the local bar talking around a table. none of these shows seek to develop controversy to generate ratings. intelligent informative programming and maybe the best talk radio in detroit. a welcome respite from the hyperbole typical of talk radio in detroit. kudos!

Coach's appearance on Sports Final Edition last night was brief and routine. Talked about having a lot of new players, wanting to compete, and the tough games on the non-conference season. He revealed that he lives downtown on Woodward and Grand River and enjoys the nearby restaurants. Seemed like the segment was shortened due to time constraints; they didn't mention Hoop Night in the D. As usual, Coach Davis was soft spoken and laid back.

Thanks Sam, I recorded sports final edition and guess what, as soon as coach Davis appeared the recording ended. That could be the reason the segment seemed rushed. I am glad that coach Davis lives in the city, that is something he can state to parents that can help in recruiting. Thanks for the synopsis.

Go to the 18:55 mark for the brief Davis interview. One thing that I caught - Davis says 13 new players, 10 on scholarship + 3 walk on's. Previously we thought it was 9 + 4, so maybe his son (or Parilla or Gorman or Riley) is now on scholarship - the below quote comes directly from the press release issued when they announced the 2nd group of signings: www.fox2detroit.com/sports/sportsworks-dan-miller-bob-wojnowski-john-niyo-mike-davis

Just spitballin' here...perhaps he gave the 10th scholarship to a walk on for this year only, if was available/excess.
Also, I believe in the 'old days' you could split up scholarships and give 1 whole scholarships to a number of players (no evidence that occurred here either, just throwing it out there as I believe it is, or was, a common practice for other non-football/basketball sports).
Most importantly - I'm pleased to see Coach Davis getting local media opportunities!
