A Pittsburgh, Nov. 9

I love this as a guarantee game. YSU is getting $85K for it, not top dollar but not a bad payday. It's an hour from YSU. It's a P6 conference team that has sucked that last couple years and will have a new coach--YSU could win this game.

Their game with Ohio State is also good, if you've got to play guarantee games. I'd take guarantees against MSU or UM.

Realistically, we'd be lucky to get a 3-1, with the 1 at the Palace, against either MSU or UM. Sad but true.

I'd take that, or guarantee games. We need to play MSU and UM. I'm sure for some Michigan kids being recruited, that would be a big plus over an offer from, say, Buffalo or Indiana State.

BTW, another cost to our delay in getting a staff together--relatively minor in the long-term scheme but definitely there for 2018-19--is getting a schedule together. Fortunately it looks like we have the Legends Tournament committed, because otherwise I think the only contract we had left from before was with WMU. Schools are working now on scheduling for next year. It will get harder, not easier.
