I just can't imagine the hold up is based on the June 30 fiscal year end date for UDM, it doesn't make any sense THAT is the hold up. Someone on here, can't recall who, suspected that Davis has some kind clause with his contract at TSU to stay on thru 6/30 (for whatever reason). That seems the most plausible reason that its on his end not on ours. Or, we actually are slow playing this for some reason...waiting on the next Board of Trustees meeting, waiting as Davis lawyers out negotiate ours, waiting on the search committee to do some extraneous formal step they've decided they need to do that drags the process out longer, who knows. I do know that at THIS point if Davis isn't hired, I think both message boards will just melt in flames of fury and it won't be pretty. I suggested previously that Davis might have such a provision in his contract. That said, I would think TSU would want to waive any such financial penalty to their departing coach just so they can more publicly start the process to fill their own vacancy. The UDM Trustees do not have to approve a coaching hire, so that doesn’t explain the holdup. Quite. At this point, if SoTex had some clause, I can't imagine they wouldn't waive it. If nothing else, beyond getting their search going they could pocket a few bucks, and their athletic department really needs every dime. And if they didn't waive it, why not Davis just quit? What are they gonna do, sue him for $10 grand?

If Davis isn't hired, Vowels will probably have to go into a witness protection program. None of this makes any sense.

The original post has obviously been deleted Ironic that Texas Southern happens to have 2 JUCO SG's signed for next year: Tra'Quan Knight and Jalan Brown as far as the transfer, here's last season's roster: www.tsusports.com/roster.aspx?path=mbballNot that it means anything, but Knight retweeted our announcement of Davis's hiring and started following JJ Jr. on twitter.

An immediate add of a 4-year, 3 star player. This is a GREAT, immediate start to the Davis tenure!
Now, let's hope we can get some big bodies to rebound and work down low for all our guards.
