An odd and unfortunate series of events for JJJ. Being a 3rd year soph at LIU-B couldn't have been the dream and plan as they 'chase the league' (a brand that JJ seems to have tried to create). My quick look at the LIUB roster and stats indicates they have a number of guards returning that got significant minutes last year, plus they added in a transfer from Akron who played 20 mins a game as a frosh. Not exactly a situation where JJJ will go in and command the team as the top dog (I don't think that situation existed anyhow, but again probably not what the Jacksons had in mind).
JB didn't show much as a freshman at all. He floated on the perimeter during his few minutes. He wasn't very athletic or svelte looking, but perhaps this redshirt year working out at LIU has address some of that.
I want good things for both Jacksons - and hopefully the past few years of humble pie servings can direct them both on a good path in their careers.

LIU just took another transfer PG: Tre Wood from U Mass. He must sit out this year.

I think Jack spent most of his time at Spire with the Jacksons last season. He seems like he should be a good stretch 4,but he has to put the work in, not sure if he did that at UofD.

My first indication that the 2017-18 season was going to be really bad was when I showed up on Hoop Night in the D and saw just how heavy Jaleel and Jack B. were. We were all banking on a big season from Hogan, and I thought JB was going to be a rotation guy as a freshman. Based on what I saw that night, I knew that was going to be unlikely. Hopefully, JB has benefited greatly during his redshirt year at LIU-B. I have no idea what to expect from JJJ next season. If he wasn't part of a team with structured practices and conditioning, it might take him a while (at least) to get going.

I always liked the J's and I feel they were not the problem but could have been the solution. At the games I tend to focus on the bench and the coaching. I saw JJ trying to coach up and work with the other players. Chatman on the other hand only looked to be interested in one player. I often think of how things might have worked out had Chatman stayed at UM. I think it would have been better for UD and not as good for UM. I feel Chemistry is important in more places than the lab. I hope the remaining players at UD are as concerned and hard at work getting ready for the upcoming season.

Kam Chatman was a good player, but he wasn't good enough to get his dad a nice six figure coaching job. BA also probably thought that Khalil Chatman was going to be a good player, and thay he could get the program rolling with the Chatmans. BA tried to take a short cut,It didn't feel right, and I didn't say anything because I wanted it to work out.

After spending that summer wondering if Hogan was going to be able to play and then finding out right before the season that he was eligible, it was a big letdown to see him so heavy that night. That was a nightmare of a senior season for him.

Generally speaking, it has not been proven worth it to hire a player's family member to get that player. I can't think of a situation that really paid big dividends other than Larry Brown at Kansas hiring Danny Manning's father Ed as an assistant coach. It certainly didn't work out for the BA.

Looks like JJ junior and Jack B will now be “Sharks.” The new name come after LIU-Brooklyn Blackbirds (D1) and LIU-Post Pioneers (D2) merged their athletic programs and will henceforth be branded as the LIU Sharks.
