His Bio from last season. From Ann Arbor. Played 2 years JUCO. Played in only one game last season due to a knee injury. Rated the No. 45 best junior college player in the country in 2017. So with a waiver for last seasons injury, he'll have 2 seasons to play. Question for anyone - I'm assuming he still needs to sit a year even though he sat out last season (except for 1 game) due to injury. Verbal commits does not list him as immediately eligible www.latechsports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/harrison_curry_1045556.html

We'll, there's one more piece of the puzzle we've been discussing in the roster thread.
6-7, 230 lb. forward. At Pennsacola, averaged 14.5 ppg.
I presume he'll sit a year and then have two seasons of eligibility.

A story on Curry signing with La. Tech. It explains in part why I didn't recall him playing in Michigan (he spent his senior year of HS playing in South Carolina); some relatively interesting commentary, including:

A biggish player added to the roster. Can't say I know anything about this young man, but the one item in his bio that had me thinking he's more a swing man than a 'down and dirty' player was this... "Shot 46 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range ... Made multiple triples in 17 contests"

I'm glad to see us add some size. 6-7, 230 are good dimensions for the HL. Looks like he averaged 6 rebounds per game in his last JUCO year. That sounds promising. Welcome aboard, young man!

Assuming he has to sit this year as a transfer, next year would be his 5th since enrolling. SO... either he would need a waiver to play this year without sitting a year (rarely given absent family hardship), OR he will need a waiver in 2020-21 to play a 6th season (rarely given unless two seasons are lost to injury). I don't wish ill on Mr. Curry, but maybe he meets the family hardship to get a waiver this year and be immediately eligible for 2 years. After all, he is transferring back home. Guess we'll see. In any event, sounds like a nice pick up. Welcome back to Michigan, Harrison!

I don't believe there was a coaching change at La Tech, so there doesn't seem to be an obvious reason for him transferring.

A player named Blake Harris also got a waiver granting immediate eligibility. He transferred from Missouri to North Carolina State. I am not sure what circumstances existed that supported his waiver request; I followed him since he was a senior in high school and I am not aware of any. He originally signed with the University of Washington and received a release after UW head coach Lorenzo Romar before Harris enrolled. He then signed with Missouri, joining a couple of players who had also signed previously with Washington. He left Missouri, not for any family or academic reasons, and joined the Wolfpack. Nothing on the surface would indicate justification for a waiver. Maybe the NCAA is just feeling generous and are granting waivers a lot more easily than they used to. I would certainly feel better about the coming season if Curry was available.

This is why I think Curry will be playing this season: That's a good point, Scout, because I can't see a single reason why Herron would have received a waiver. I think you might be right about Curry.

Mark Smith, a transfer from Illinois, got a waiver for immediate eligibility at Missouri. Once again, I am unaware of any unusual circumstances that would normally justify a waiver.
If the Titans are waiting on a decision from the NCAA on Curry, I am in agreement with Scout; the we might be in for good news.

He has a physique similar to Xavier Keeling, except Curry might be slightly bigger. I am hoping he's the same type of player minus the drama.
