The Ivy League has had an interesting conference schedule. All teams have played only two conference games, which is unique among college basketball conferences. Many conferences have played up to nine or ten games already. Harvard, Yale, and Princeton are tied for first at 2-0.
Harvard, despite playing without Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken and Seth Towns, has won eight games in a row.

The Ivy League schedule makers weren't kind to Harvard to start this season. The opened conference play at home against Dartmouth and then a week later, traveled to Dartmouth for their second league game. They then traveled to Penn (losing by 3 points in OT) and to Princeton (losing by 1 point) on a Friday/Saturday schedule. Today they played at Yale, handing Yale their first conference loss, and tomorrow they travel to Brown. Harvard is 14-6, 3-2, and still playing without Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken.

Bad news for Harvard as forward Seth Towns will not be available for the season opener and his status is still undetermined for the coming season. Towns averaged 16 points per game in 2017-18, but missed last season with that knee injury. Interesting bit of news out of the Ivy League. Harvard's Seth Towns has entered the transfer portal. He was Ivy League player of the year in 2017-18, but hasn't played in almost two years. Ankle Breakin' Bryce Aiken, who has also had an injury plagued career, will graduate and transfer from Harvard. His oft injured classmate, Seth Towns, will also be transferring. I believe the Ivy League does not allow fifth year seniors to play, if I remember correctly. If healthy (big if) both Towns and Aiken will be in high demand.

But for injuries, Harvard might have had a legit Final 4 contender this year--seriously. They upset Yale today.

I am reading multiple reports stating The Ivy League is cancelling their conference basketball tournaments due to concerns over the Coronavirus.

I am reading multiple reports stating The Ivy League is cancelling their conference basketball tournaments due to concerns over the Coronavirus. I remember someone posting that, except for the National Champion, we were the other team that had the distinction of winning our last game of the season. Merrimack, who as a new comer to D1 was ineligible for their conference tournament is also on this list. Now we can add Cornell, Penn, Brown and Harvard to the list (pending any post season tourney invites)

NCAA Champ (at least 6, possibly more) 2. NIT Champ (5) 3. CIT Champ (5 or 4) 3/5/7. CBI Champ (5, 2, or 1) 4/5. Penn (3) 6. Brown (2) 7. Detroit (1) 7. Harvard (1) 7. Cornell (1) 7. Merrimack (1) 7. Middle Tennessee State (1) 7. Tennessee-Martin (1) 7. New Orleans (1) and 7. Mississippi Valley State (1) (Lindsey Hunter's team finishes 3-27, will not play in the SWAC tournament, but won its last game. I'm assuming they play the CIT and CBI. I think it's possible they'll cancel them, and maybe some other games as well.

Plus I guess those Ivy League egg heads are really the smartest - they cancelled far before anyone else; far before this became a big deal

Amaker pulls in another four star recruit, landing French native Louis Lemond. Lemond attends high school in Illinois. He is ranked in the top 100 recruit by 24/7 Sports in the class of 2021, and had multiple high major offers. chicago.suntimes.com/2020/6/13/21290226/louis-lesmond-harvard-niles-notre-dame-basketballIn other Ivy League recruiting news, Princeton landed 6-1 guard Blake Peters out of Evanston, Illinois in the class of 2021. Peters had offers from UIC and Milwaukee, among others.

Brown with a very solid commitment: Power forward Nana Owusu-Anane, a Rivals three star recruit, verbaled to the Bears yesterday. The young man had offers from programs from the AAC and A10, as well as an offer from Dartmouth. At 6-9, 225, he's already got good size for D1 and he's obviously a smart kid. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2021/nana-owusu-anane-260020#school-interestsAlso, Harvard continued their strong recruiting under Amaker, landing Tyler Simon, a Houston native currently enrolled at a prep school in Arizona. 24/7 sports ranks him in the top 150 in the class of 2021. He reportedly had offers from Cal and Stanford. 247sports.com/Player/Tyler-Simon-46086313/

Just realized I didn't recap the Ivy League's 2019-20 season.
The Ivy League was the first conference to cancel their conference tournament due to Covid-19, which meant fans didn't get to see what would likely have been an interesting set of games. Yale took first in the conference during the regular season, going 11-3 (23-7)to second place Harvard's 10-4 (21-8). Harvard was injury racked again, with Seth Townes missing the entire year and Ankle Breakin' Bryce Akin also missing significant time, appearing in only 7 games. Both of them left via grad transfer this season, and I am sure part of Tommy Amaker is glad to have some certainty going into the season about whether or not they are ever going to be healthy. Both Yale and Harvard picked up some impressive wins during the non-conference portion of the schedule. Yale beat UMass and Clemson. Harvard beat UMass, Texas A&M, George Washington, and San Francisco. Harvard also swept Yale in the season series.
Order of Finish in 2019-20: Yale Harvard Princeton Penn Brown Dartmouth Cornell Columbia
