Pretty cool. Good thing for their program and the area.

Despite the issues with the Board and whatever fight they are picking with the President, this is indeed a good thing it appears.
The size of a mere 3,000 also feels right, and looks appropriate for the program. Fortunately it's not bigger, for the Titans, as there isn't fear that it will steal high profile high school games from Calihan (Boys Regionals, Catholic Leagues, etc).

I may try and check that out. I went to the WSU website this afternoon, first day individual tickets were available. The WSU/Michigan game is already sold out.

The arena capacity is relatively small, around 3,000. It’s possible a good chunk of those were gobbled up by U-M fans living in the Detroit area. WSU may have also set aside seats for their donors and students.

Was there any truth to those rumors last year about Wayne going D1?

Wayne State opened their new building last night, dropping an exhibition to the U-M by a score of 87-54. The Warriors trailed 48-21 at the half but battled pretty evenly in the second half. WSU actually jumped ahead 6-3 to start the game. Despite the score, the opening was a success as several notables were in the house, including Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. wsuathletics.com/news/2021/11/5/mens-basketball-vs-michigan.aspx

I'm surprised EJ Haralson didnt get promoted. I guess the WSU job isnt as coveted as I thought.
