6'5" Belgian forward Sam Hofman (I don't think that "Detroit Merci" meets any of the preferred names that the University lists in the game notes 😅)

Will the Cadieux Cafe now become an alternative to Buddy's? Will we now offer moules et frites at the concession stands in Calihan Hall? Dave DeBusschere was of Belgian heritage. Important to get these stats from FIBA distance since the NCAA 3-point line will now be FIBA distance next season.

It occurs to me that 30 years ago the foreign players would have been Antoine and Jamail, and the native born Sam and Willie. Now Sam and Willie are from overseas, and Antoine and Jamail are the native born. just an observation in a changing (and more global) world.

I found profiles of our latest verbal Sam Hofman—all from the last year—listing him a s 6-2, 6-4, 6-5, and 6-7.
Is this the player we heard balked because of the probation? If so, is this a promising sign on our appeal?
Anyway, welcome Sam, however y’all you are!

Whenever you get a guy affiliated with his National Team you should get excited.

We should rebrand as University of Detroit Thank You. With a surname of Hofman, there is a pretty good chance that he is of Flemish ancestry. In Flemish, our name would be something like the University of Detroit Dank. "Dank" does have more of a basketball sound to it. Then, we could rebrand as "Dank City."
