Morehead State replaces Hartford. I think that's an upgrade.

So no travel partners? Or would Lazcrone have the kids play 4 in a row. INJURIES! What about the kids because this does’t seem safer.

The Summit League recently released its conference schedule. Their format has schools playing pairs of back-to-back games on consecutive days. Not sure how I feel about that.

The Summit League recently released its conference schedule. Their format has schools playing pairs of back-to-back games on consecutive days. Not sure how I feel about that. Way back in the 1950s, the Titans used to do this with Houston. Both were in the sprawling MVC. One year they'd play both games in Houston on back-to-back days, and the next year both games in Detroit.

I'd love to get into a 2nd MTE with a few big name teams

If it were ever going to happen, this would be the year for an 8 team Michigan MTE: UM, MSU, UD, Oakland, WMU, EMU, CMU, Wayne or perhaps Ferris or Grand Valley. I'd set it up something like this: 1st round: Game 1. MSU vs. D-2 Game 2. OU vs. EMU Game 3. UD vs. WMU Game 4. UM v. CMU
Winners Bracket 2d Round: Game 5. Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner
3d Round: Game 9: Game 5 winner vs. Game 6 winner (champion) Game 10: Game 5 loser vs. game 6 loser (third place game)
Loser's bracket: 2d Round: Game 7: Game 1 loser vs. game 2 loser Game 8: Game 3 loser vs. game 4 loser
Game 11: Game 7 winner vs. game 8 winner (5th place) Game 12: Game 7 loser vs. game 8 loser (7th place)
Minimize travel costs; no need for UM/MSU to pay big guarantees. UM/MSU could not meet until the final game, likewise UD/OU (which would seem unlikely). Some greater (but not great chance) of MAC teams meeting in 2d round.
Won't happen, though.

That would be fun. But specific to this season, there would need to be a substitute for Wayne St. or Ferris as D-2 opponents can’t be scheduled under the NCAA guidelines.

Just use our staff's vast number of connections across the landscape of college basketball and invite Marquette, Xavier and DePaul to play in our MTE at Calihan. I'm sure they'll accept...

That actually won't work. Too many Big East teams. I know Izzo is dying to get back to Calihan, so sub MSU for DePaul (sorry Sam), and that's our MTE. Duke, and Gonzaga can join DePaul in 21-22.

I’m guessing Kentucky on 11/27, Morehead St. on 11/29.

So no travel partners? Or would Lazcrone have the kids play 4 in a row. INJURIES! What about the kids because this does’t seem safer. Confirmation that this will be the format, from an article today previewing Youngstown St. basketball: “The Horizon League has decided on a back-to-back setting, whether that’s Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday. That’s this year’s format,” Calhoun stated. “You won’t have the traditional schedule where you play a team at home then on the road. “It’s going to be split right in half. You’ll play 20 games with 10 on the road in a back-to-back setting with the other 10 here in a home-and-home setting
