Interesting analysis, Rogo. I think you’re possibly correct, as I was most likely overestimating tv money. I wonder if some schools will elect to stop offering new scholarships for the 2020 class considering the real possibility they will have to supply scholarships and room and board for these kids without seeing them compete.

Earlier today, the Senate Republican caucus presented Gov. Gretchen Whitmer with a five-phase plan to jumpstart Michigan’s economy.
Phase 4 would begin when cases and deaths fall for 19 out of 21 days and certain hospital capacity conditions are met. Gatherings of less than 250 people would be allowed.
Phase 5 would happen when no active spread of the coronavirus has been reported for 30 days or a vaccine has been available for 30 days. All remaining business restrictions and restrictions on large gatherings, including festivals, concerts and sporting events, would be removed.
If something like this framework is adopted, seems like it could be some time before spectator sports are resumed.

The schedule is slowly being put together, and we've had some news on the recruiting front. But I'm looking at things and thinking more and more that the season won't get played. We'll see.

What leads you to that thought, Commish? I think the draconian shelter-in-place orders, while helpful, have been less successful than expected. I don't think there will be a vaccine before January, and while I think large parts of the economy will have to get back in gear, I see an ongoing ban on large public gatherings. There's no particular study or evidence, just my sense of how things are shaping up.

The NCAA and the power schools are going to be hurting for some TV revenue, so I see them as bending over backwards to get something on TV. That's what NASCAR is doing. And Korean baseball.

Notre Dame will begin the fall semester early, August 10th, cancel fall break, and end the semester right before Thanksgiving. I’m hearing there’s hope for some football without fans, and that the basketball programs will not play games until after Thanksgiving with the exception of playing in the Legends Classic on November 23rd should that not be canceled.
