With the APR ban over, and scholarships opening up, could Davis have something brewing as far as a major upgrade in talent on the way? If he doesn't, along with losing Marquis, I'd be extremely disappointed

Marquis was one of the guys I think was worth keeping. Inconsistent, but he could be very good at times.

This is very disappointing. The ONLY way this is okay, is if somehow/someway Coach has 2 or 3 real nice big guys about to sign - and thus Boe and Moore thought it was best for their careers to move along. Yes, that is a potential outcome but is it the likely outcome? I haven't seen anything from Davis his 3 years on the job to think that is what is going to happen.
Here's what we are losing with our transfers (I added Miller in as a graduating player just to note the amount of big man mins and contribution are now gone for next season and not yet replaced). All stats are based on per game basis.
Minutes: Moore 2nd on team, Miller 4th, LeGrand 7th, Boe 9th Points: Miller 2nd, Moore 3rd, Boe 8th, LeGrand 11th Rebounds: Miller 2nd, Moore 3rd, Boe 4th, LeGrand 7th Assists: Miler 2nd, LeGrand 3rd, Moore 4th, Boe 10th
Moore is a real loss. Coach better get crackin' or we are looking at another 10-20'ish season, and wasting another season of a big time talent with Antoine.

I really wanted Legrand to stay, it seems like he had a lot of untapped potential. He had good size and was a decent athlete.

Marquis was one of the guys I think was worth keeping. Inconsistent, but he could be very good at times. I agree. Improved, but incredibly inconsistent. I'm wondering if he left for greener pastures or if he was nudged out the door. I will be interested to follow his career from afar. I just read an article the other day about how most recruits (minus the most in demand guys on the top 100 lists) are now more likely to choose a school closer to home due to the Covid crisis. I'd expect Moore to land out west somewhere. This is do or die time for Coach. I'm hopeful, based on whispers I've heard, that he has a few better recruits on the way. But, they are just whispers, and not screams, plus nothing Davis has done on his 3 recruiting classes (so far) has shown me he is able to bring the difference making talent to Detroit or keep the (fewer and fewer) elite local players here on "Detroit's College Team"

I liked Moore a lot as a player. I am sorry to see him go. I thought he was one of the guys to build on.

LeGrand is no loss—a D-2 player forced by circumstances to be given minutes. The guy is three years out of HS and has done nothing.
Boe had some potential and might have developed this year, but if you were counting on Boe to be a key player, you were basically counting on us sucking again.
When you lose 20 games four years running, you want roster turnover. I thought Marquis had value, but on the others I’m basically, “great, more room for better players.” If Coach can’t produce them, we’re no worse off than if these guys stayed. We weren’t going to challenge for the HL if Boe and LeGrand were key players.

Do the three players that left have to enroll next semester in order for us to not be on probation again?

And, I'll add to my own post, if Coach can't sign better players than Boe and LeGrand, I doubt he'll last much beyond AD's career. But Coach has had success before, at every stop. I have a pretty good idea of at least two guys likely to join us next year, and while they won't remind you of Spencer Haywood and Rashad Phillips, they should be better than Nguidjol and LeGrand. I wish both those young men luck and good fortune at the future schools, and thank them for choosing UD.

Wow, the off-season is flying by. We are already at the stage where posters who claim to be in the know talk about mystery players they know of about to join the program (but, of course no names are ever provided). The least you could do is provide the country of citizenship for these players so we could look at U19 national team rosters and make guesses.

If you want to try something depressing, scroll through the 2019 recruiting thread, especially all the stuff from last summer and the MBM's. I can't believe how many hours I wasted going through foreign/Egyptian rosters and double checking every day. Now I must be insane - I just spent/wasted a few hours over the past couple of days going through big man grad transfer stats, backgrounds and school locations searching for a clue as to who is supposedly coming in

First of all: CalihanMole, based upon your comments and disclaimers about where you live, how many times you have been on campus, your admission about lack of information etc. your moniker should be "Calihan UNMole".
Second: I am not expecting the next Spencer Haywood to walk in but the Coach's plan appears to be as follows: 1) ask players who are not fitting in from a Program/Effort/Academic/Talent Level to find a school where they will be a better fit. 2) recruit replacements who are Grad Transfers who have been through the wars to come in and lead by example (showing the remaining players how to work hard and how to win). 3) bring in experience at PG (ball handler/penetrator/defender) and in the Middle (space eater) and maybe one more Wing/SG who can score. 4) these Grad Transfers are all from U.S. colleges, I believe, so no need to check Icelanders, Egyptians, Polar Bears or Penguins.
Will it work? I don't know. But I believe in our Coach and am not ready to throw in the towel and start over again. It's not easy waiting, I know. Expect an announcement this week (see #3, space eater). Try to be patient and wait until the merry-go-round stops and we know what our team will look like next season.
