The women's team playing a game at Calihan earlier this afternoon That doesn’t seem to be a very good excuse. They certainly knew in advance about the scheduled WBB game (which started on time and did not go into overtime) as well as what the pre-established league protocols stipulate for intervals between games. ESPN had been showing the 6:00 pm ET time several days ago.

Is the game at 5:00 or 6:00 pm ET today? The DetroitTitans.com website says 5:00 pm. ESPN has conflicting info, 5:00 pm on one page, 6:00 pm on another. No radio feed currently on Detroit or Green Bay home radio stations, ESPN+ not streaming the game, so must be the later time. How hard is it to communicate the correct start time to your fans? I have been telling you for two years that fans do not matter to Vowels. I quit saying hello to Vowels at the games because he doesn't answer. Just send the money, we might use it for what you intended or we might choose to donate to a deserving cause so that Vowels can get a kudo. As far as the Mickey Mouse League what else can you expect.

Exactly right. UDM didn’t tweet the time change until 4:55. Ugh, you’re telling me that they were not aware of the change and couldn’t take 10 seconds to make a tweet at 4pm at the latest? I’d say it’s HS level marketing/communication but it’s not even that. I feel really bad for the players. They played so hard yesterday. At the very least they deserve a competent athletics department that can professionally relay information to the small remaining fan base.

Ok Titans! 2 wins, keep it rolling!! This thread is really intended to complain ad nauseum about communicating the changed start time of today's game. In the future, try not to take it off track with good news and enthusiasm for a nice weekend of play.

Commish: remember that winning cures all ills, except in Titan Territory!
There were also complaints on another thread that we are "not recruiting" for next season because Davis would like to bring everyone back. Here are my thoughts.
We now have complementary players who are hard-nosed and willing to make an effort on defense. Namely Buol (who is an absolute player -- Friday he hit open 3s, yesterday he drove the lane and drew fouls and helped Antoine carry this team on his back down the stretch); Fraser (tough as nails); Johnson (tough as nails), Rose (injured but strong); Koka (he's made a difference); and Willy (slow afoot but he's adapted to playing Center in the 1-3-1 and took a huge charge late yesterday).
And we have two "X" factors: Brandon and Waterman. Brandon needs to get healthy and get back in his groove and if he can return to last year's second-half form, WOW. He does things no one else on the team can do. Buol and Waterman do a few things he does, but he is the most athletic guy we have and a high-energy guy. We need him.
Waterman: what a true steal. A high ceiling and he plays with energy. Yesterday he sat for major minutes but still made a difference (6 rebounds) including a HUGE 3-pointer late.
In summary: this team will go as Antoine carries them, but the road to success for Antoine should be easier this year because of all the help he now has. He won't always need to score 30 (as we needed yesterday) for us to win. 20 points, fewer turnovers and good decision-making will be enough most nights. There seems to be chemistry forming. If we break down the team again, we will have to create new chemistry next year. Everyone needs to know their role, needs to be on the same page. Beginning on defense. We still give up too many open 3s but seem to fighting harder on defense now. Offensively, we still have runs where we look so out of sync, and Antoine still tries to do too much sometimes, but I see more passing, more understanding of where to go on the court, more cohesion.
So, for next year. Do we really need another 5'9" guard on the team? I think not. If there's a high school forward or center with upside who wants to be a Titan, sure I'd love to sign him. But we need continuity. We need Ws. Unless of course you'd rather bitch about things than enjoy success......

For me, the most important aspect of last night's game was that we came back from 14 points down in the first half when our roster was limited due to health issues. Hopefully, we don't spot our opponents like that too many more times. Our ability to put Bul, Noah, and another shooter like Matt and Willy on the floor at the same time appears to be creating space for Antoine. Let's hope this continues for the rest of the season.

I must have missed this, but why didn’t Chris Brandon play yesterday?

I must have missed this, but why didn’t Chris Brandon play yesterday? Injury, but they weren't specific about it. Koka also has an injured ankle, according to Davis in the postgame radio interview.
