Sam, I thought UNLV players have been receiving car payments for years.🤪 Now they can admit it. For some the N.I.L will not be a good thing. Now they will have to declare and pay taxes. I wonder how many Universities during recruiting will offer to do and pay taxesand how that will translate with the IRS charging accumulating and charging penalties up to 5 yrs. before graduation. The IRS might come out of this as the big winners😎

I remember when Charlie Batch worked at Sesi Motors as a porter washing cars and shuttling customers and inventory for minimum wage and then after he was drafted and signed his contract he went back to the dealership and offered to do some free adds. Things sure have changed! Let’s hope that 15 - 20 yrs. from now Ty Ty has as much class as Charlie and this N.I.L thing doesn’t do more damage than good.

Andrel is a 3/4 star fresh WR from Lansing. Was a mild surprise he chose blue over green. Perhaps Des had connections to the young man from being in the area. Regardless, NIL is gonna be super interesting to see shake out. Would be interesting in 10 yrs from now what mid major took the most of the NIL opportunity to boost their program. Andrel didn't have a catch coming into the UM/MSU game today, but racked up six catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns today. MONEYBALL!

Nigel Pack, transfer from Kansas State, committed to Miami. He got a sweet NIL deal from a Miami booster. Two years at $400,000 per year along with a car.
Pandora's Box is open.

This is absurd--there's no way Nigel Pack is worth $400K/yr in NIL. He's worth $400K a year only because a booster wants him, not for NIL value, but to play basketball. The argument for NIL was that the NCAA shouldn't make money off of the players' names and images while the players couldn't sell their endorsements. What was the reason for that oft-criticized rule? It was this--what we're seeing here. All that may be great, it may be just, but we no longer have amateur collegiate sports. We now have minor league professional basketball, with teams carrying the names of universities instead of cities, towns, or states.

Next step will be the NIL booster logo on the players Jerseys, this is the start of the end of NCAA basketball as we know it. Maybe the answer is a team NIL poll so all D 1 players get a share.

It's like the old days when a boosters company would hire a player and pay them for a full day's work when they just signed in and left. Too many people making decisions regarding college basketball are only focused on a few players at high major conferences.

Wow. Isaiah Wong of Miami is threatening to enter the NBA draft if his NIL deal is not improved. He's basically holding out for a new contract.
College basketball is ending before our very eyes.

Seriously, who didn't see this coming? The new guy gets $400K per year. The guy who actually has accomplished something at Miami wants to get paid a comparable "salary." Sad to say, who can blame him?
