Then again, Sylla could be heeding the advice of the coaches. If they have other plans for the scholarship, he needs to find a place to play next year. Not saying that's true, not saying that I have any inside info, just thinking that if Coach Davis has lined up another big man (or two) then Sylla needs to be looking because the school can revoke his scholarship and he has no recourse. And it's not like he got a lot of playing time last season.

Every year when we lose players there is speculation that they are leaving because they know we are bringing in talented players at their position, cutting into their minutes. I don't think that has been the case, at least for the past several years. One can only hope.

Noah was an upgrade over Sam Hofman. Kevin McAdoo was an upgrade over Jamail Pink. Madut Akec was an upgrade over Chris Brandon.

I don't want to speak for Sam, but it seems to me that the apologists for the program try to justify the loss of talent with the promise of something better is on it's way, but that rarely seems to be the truth. With all these supposed upgrades, we should be winning the Horizon, not suffering through yet another sub .500 season. Something is very wrong over at Calihan Hall....

Was he the “space eater”? At 6'11" 235#, no one else on our roster had that combo of height and weight. Of course, Harvey was also 235#, but a half foot shorter- so he obviously ate a lot more than just space

With this insane inflation, there’s no way the MBB program could pay to feed him.

Sylla doesn’t seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer! Davis probably wouldn’t be able to keep him eligible. Seems funny that a guy who hardly ever left campus actually didn’t do much when he was there. Sylla probably learned about potato’s at Boise which should help him get a job at 5 Guys, if he can get a few really good letters of recommendation!
