Titans get their first win of the season, 63-61 over UIC. Winning basketball made in the last second of play.

The Titans are now tied in the standings with UIC, both teams 1-16 in league play. UDM lost in OT when they played the Flames at Calihan.

Won at the buzzer with two starters who had fouled out and another who left the game injured. I am so happy for them. So glad this game was rescheduled and not just ruled a "no contest".

Vowels and Coach Davis should have worked harder to reschedule the mens no contest games. Not just the Oakland game..but all 5 games. And it’s disgraceful that the Conference commissioner left it in the hands of the schools…why do we have a commissioner? Why do we have a conference?

Just watched the game. The ladies played hard the entire game. No quit in these players. I am trying to figure out how they play with those eyelashes and are not distracted? To me it would be the same as someone putting a finger over my eye. Well congratulations you looked to be having fun after the win. ENJOY!

Nice job! Obviously UIC isn't very good either, but it would have been easy to simply give up on the season and mail it in. Instead they appear to still be playing hard and with a purpose. That's a sign of good coaching, and establishing the building blocks for better things to come.

If I had to guess, there has already been a decision to continue Coach Collins and her staff beyond this interim year by the University administration. Most likely this has been communicated to current players, incoming commits, and prospective recruits.

I can not see where holding back that decision benefits the womens program. So I guess you are agreeing with me about Garibaldi and Vowels not thinking about the welfare of the Wonens program.

I won’t comment on Garibaldi and Vowels, was just making an observation that it appears to me that quite possibly a decision has been made to extend Collins’ contract beyond this season. My primary reason for thinking that is the case is the recent commitments received from recruits for next year, coupled with the professionalism the staff has exhibited in the face of tough circumstances. In the past, UDM has not typically sent out press releases when they extend coaching contracts, at least none that I can recall.

LaTanya's title is STILL Interim Head Coach. How would you like to recruit with interim in your title? The professionalism that the staff has exhibited is a testament to them, not any actions by others. The right decision is to keep her, the time to make it public is long past.
