If MD has gotten around to the schedule he probably would prefer a Texas opening.

It's had to believe there is a $90,000 payday out there from Michigan for a low mid major and it goes to Purdue'Ft Wayne and not UDM...................

Most high majors shy away from scheduling in-state low & mid- major opponents. Often, if those games get scheduled at all, it’s against state schools, which Get support from some members of the legislature. So no, this isn’t at all hard to believe.

The last (only?) high major coach I ever saw put an emphasis on scheduling instate schools for buy games was Michigan State football coach George Perles. He said if they were going to be paying schools to play, it should be Michigan schools. If I was Mike Davis I would be reaching out to Mike Woodson at IU. I imagine that Indiana might even work in a little recognition for Davis, who took that the Hoosiers to the championship game.

A few weeks ago I heard there were some talks with UConn. Don’t know if that will come to fruition, but with so little known about the 2022-23 schedule I thought I would at least mention that as a possibility. I assume it would be a buy game.

Detroit schedule news!!!!!!! (now if we can just get the rest of our roster before the end of the day....) Team gets to enjoy some warm weather, and those would appear to be winnable games. I had heard that the Titans hoped to have the non-conference schedule wrapped up by the end of July, so perhaps only a few weeks more to wait. I believe an early game with Rochester may be in the works, likely an exhibition match but not sure.

Commissioner, Oakland ( a state school) gets those games............. Isn't that kinda my point? Those games are usually granted only to state schools. Oakland has its unique arrangement with MSU. Otherwise, worth noting that this is their first game at Michigan since 2010. We played at Michigan in 2014 and 2017.

Can’t schedule games until we have a team and that hasn’t been introduced yet. Heck we might not even have a gym to play in. You have forgotten that the people responsible for the maintenance of Titan Field are also in charge of Calihan. They are so overworked, according to some, they might have forgotten to pay the taxes.😎

It is but it's so wrong, a UDM game annually would be kind of a "community enhancement" for the Detroit area, and the U of M wouldn't skip a beat, not money-wise, recruiting wise or it's fan base.

Providing a home for our many Detroit projects in the heart of the city’s cultural center makes us far more visible and accessible and enables us to be a part of its revitalization. We look forward to the way this center will strengthen the partnership between U-M and Detroiters.” — U-M President Mary Sue Coleman in introducing the U-M Detroit Center to the D detroit.umich.edu/
