As was mentioned briefly in another thread, the University will be hosting four high school football games this Fall, essentially the home games for Loyola. Here’s the schedule, I believe game times are 7:00 pm:
8/26 Detroit Country Day vs Loyola 9/2 GR Catholic Central vs Loyola 9/16 Notre Dame Prep vs Loyola 9/23 UD Jesuit vs Loyola

What is seating capacity? Appears to be small set of bleachers only.

Is Titan field Synthetic Turf I hope? If so does anyone know who handled the install and the base that was used? I am guessing some of the above listed games will have 2000+ in attendance.

There's only three football Division 1 schools that UD haven't played in either football or basketball yet, that have older stadiums still in use. Does anyone want to guess which three Universities have older stadiums? Trivia question 100 year anniversary.

Yes, synthetic turf, recently replaced. Not sure about all the games, but I could see seating capacity being an issue for the matchup with UDJ. I know Loyola is a pretty small school and I’ve heard they don’t have an especially big fan base. I believe these Loyola “home” games were originally scheduled to be played at Warren Fitzgerald’s football field.

This sounds like good news all around - exposure for UDM, and if it helps out Loyola that’s a great thing too!

The NCAA will grandfather in fields less than 120x 80 but not a new pitch. Average cost for a NCAA regulation soccer field installed with proper foundations can be up to $1,500,000 and under normal use with proper maintenance will have a life expectancy of about 9 yrs. This is if proper drainage is installed including quite a bite of specifically crushed stone and sand.

The drainage and foundation for a grass field and a synthetic are different and the playing surface for a NCAA regulation soccer field ie a minimum of 20 yards greater in width.

The old U of D Stadium was farther from Fairfield and farther from McNichols than the current field. Much of the old stadium was atop what is now the parking lot, and much or all of the current field is atop the old Stadium grandstand and some open space (maybe tennis courts).

I was addressing Happys quote above. The last time I went to Titan Stadium was Danielsons Soph year at Divine Child they were playing CC in a night game. DC had a receiver that was on his way to ND but I went to take a look at Danielson.
