I think the biggest kick in the stomach in this one is the absolute realization that the Titans are not rolling out a great team in 2022-23. No team that gets pummelled by FAU is going to make noise on a national stage... regardless of how good Lidell might be, should he ever get to play. I think we have a higher than normal ceiling with this team, but I also dont think a truly good team (top-25 level) would need to take us seriously. Realizing that is once again the case... sucks.

Let's ask the almighty to give us patience to withstand this season. Its already seems like a water wave. 🙏

That's a good point. This was Florida Atlantic we were playing, not Florida or even a struggling Florida State team. And they ran us off the court without too much trouble. That was disappointing. We have Bryant, Charlotte, and Washington State coming up next. We'll learn some things about this team.

Paradise Invitational - University of Detroit Athletics - The day of judgement is at high tide on Monday vs Bryant. May GOD have Mercy on our souls.
UD TEAM needs to seriously take action starting now to Win.

That was a pretty good team the Titans lost to earlier in the season.

They are good but won't be winning the tourney.

Interesting to revisit the comments in this thread now that FAU has moved to the Elite 8 Final Four.

Interesting to revisit the comments in this thread now that FAU has moved to the Elite 8. Yeah, over the course of the season I have commented in the scoreboard thread about how wrong I was about FAU.

I think it was interesting last night that they ran a 9 or 10-man rotation, they kind of ran Tenn into the ground.

I saw that game in person. They were so much faster and stronger than us at every position. Afterwards, Coach May told us that he had been preparing for us and Antoine for two weeks in practice ahead of that game even when they were also preparing to play other opponents. And they blew us out in the first half.
The other interesting thing is that FAU's gym with the big flashy scoreboard looks great on TV, but their facilities for visiting teams are worse than ours. Our locker room was a janitor's storeroom with a couple of row of freestanding lockers. The cleaning supplies had been pushed to the side for the lockers. No separate room for coaches. No room for the trainers to tape our players before the games. No bathroom or showers. When we played Bryant the following Monday, FAU gave us a meeting room in the front of gym with a public bathroom bathroom nearby.

I worked for a company whose owner had an ABA team that played at the FAU gym, and it is really a big HS gym. I expect with the growth of the campus that a new field house is planned.
They do have beer at the concession stand.

And they blew us out in the first half. Sorry, but I gotta call BS on that one. The idea of FAU preparing for games against Ole Miss and Florida while keeping one eye on us is simply too funny to make that a believable statement. Im afraid Coach May might have just been being nice.
