I only know of two All-American that have ever signed and played U of D. Off-course, Ray was one of them and the other was John McIntyre in the 80's. I believe John McIntyre was more highly rated than Ray but only played one year before moving on to Missouri.
Who is the Highest profiled recruit that has ever signed with UD? Is it John McIntyre?

Spencer haywood and dave debuschere not necessarily in that order. Big D was a two sport star. Baseball too. Actually pitched for the white sox for a couple of years. Actually there were a lot of them. Depending how far back you want to go. Long tyler and turono anderson were huge. Vitale got investigated for that class. Came up empty. A lot of football players too.

I don't know that McIntyre was more highly sought than Ray, but recruiting was so much different then, without all the national rankings, and much more local, it probably hard to say.
Terrell Riggs was a "top 100" recruit, but not as high as McIntyre or Ray. Who knows where Long and Duerod would have been rated in their day - I think both were higher up the chain than Tyler. And DeBusschere was definitely a star recruit from the get-go. Also, Jerry Davis from Texas was very highly recruited.

Yes, Greg Wendt was a great player for us. McIntyre was awesome in HS, hitting a lot of NBA 3's before they counted 3's. Too bad McIntyre didn't stay at UD. He might have had a great career here.

I started attending games as a 5 year old in in 1977, the first titan player I remember was Joe Kopicki. Any best Titan list must start with Dave D. and Haywood.
1.Dave D. 2.Spencer Haywood 3.R.McCallum 4.Tony Tolbert (put UDM back on the map as transfer destination) 5.J.Jackson (Izzo tried to steal J.J at the 23rd hour)

Note that best recruit (Haywood) is not necessarily the same as "highest profiled recruit."

I believe Rashad committed before his senior year, and had a great senior year. He would have been more highly recruited had he not already committed.

Be he did win the MVP award in a tournament Kobe played in, so . . . And he was the greatest player his dad had ever seen or heard of, ever, anywhere. I don't think he was a recruiting coup, but he may have been underrated as a recruit because he committed early so people were 't really watching or after him his senior year. I have't seen E. Bibbs name come up yet. He was a pretty big recruit, and a bigger bust.

E.Bibb was rated as the 4th best player in the class of 1991. 1.C.Webber 2.J.Rose 3.V.Lenard 4.E.Bibb 5.J.Drain

How about Dorie Murrey and Lou Hyatt? Tyler, Long and Anderson were very highly sought after at the time Vitale recruited them. So was Wilbur Ross.
