Great news! Welcome to U-D, Ryan.
Note: Ryan Hurst is also the name of one of the lead actors in the 2000 movie..."Remember The Titans".

Built like Carlton Brundidge. Same height! Looks like he can elevate. He doesn’t look as heavy as Carlton. I think this is a good recruit! It would be nice to get Mr. Basketball.

This is from a December M-Live article on 2023 Mr. Basketball candidates:
Ryan Hurst, North Farmington — Guard
Hurst was a big reason why North Farmington won a district title this year and competed at the top of the OAA Red. This season, he averaged 23 points, six rebounds and two assists. He’s a very physical guard capable of taking over games.

Nice article when I Googled him by Home Town Life. He gave up football and reported weight in the article is 225. A great read and an OUTSTANDING GET IMO!!

It looks like we have our small forward for the next four seasons. FWIW, he’s listed as a point guard. You don’t see too many 6-2 small forwards in D-1 basketball these days.

Well, he's listed as 6-3 and a combo guard, and one writeup said he can play SF. Looking at who we have coming back, I expect that he will likely get more time at SF than PG. He's a big kid who can drive (and bang on his way in) and hit the long shots, too. He's a great recruit.

If we don’t sign any big men, maybe he’ll be slotted in the center position. He weighs 25 pounds more than 7-1 Koka.

Big men for next year will arrive thru the transfer portal and JUCO. Sounds like business as usual. Grab a couple bigs who averaged 3 pts, 3 rebounds at South Alabama and hope they work out better here. It's a frustrating strategy but seems to be a necessary one in today's CBB climate. The end result is that we need to cross our fingers and hope the guy we picked is the next Gerald Liddell and not the next Taurean Thompson. I suspect the coaching staff crosses their fingers as well.
