Bernie Smilovitz on WDIV mentions the CBI, says it costs $50,000 to participate in the tournament and Davis could still end up playing another game. Also says he’s never heard of it. After the sports segment is over, the anchors join in and say, yes, they checked and the CBI is actually a real thing and maybe someone should start a GoFundMe account. All references to the school throughout the newscast are “U of D.” Of course they call us U-D. At first I was surprised that Bernie didn't know what the CBI is, but then I reminded myself that Bernie's been big time for awhile now, and probably doesn't do much actual research/reporting beyond what he reads from the script on the broadcast. That's not a criticism, just an observation. |

4 of the 16 teams in the 2019 CBI has sub .500 records. Honestly, I’d be advocating to play even if AD already had the record. The entire team played very hard down the stretch. Guys deserve it and this experience could be good for Tankersley and Pink for next year. Like Mike Davis said, it’s a chance to get better.

If they promote AD, and him chasing the record, they may get so exposure. Maybe the first game at the Little Ceaser on ESPN

I think the Convention Center is where the Women's team played their Thanksgiving tournament a few years ago when they were relocated from San Juan due to a hurricane. We stayed at a nice hotel right across the street from the Center. It was right on the beach, boardwalk and nice pool. Not a bad place to be in Mid-March.
