One of the characteristics of modern day college basketball is that we have no idea who will be on the roster in 2023-24. With advent of the transfer portal and the "no wait" eligibility, players can (and do) leave for all kinds of reasons. I expect that we'll see some Titans leave who could have stayed. I thought Jones might stick around, given the fact that he was a contributor as a freshman, but you never know what is going on behind the scenes.
The Titans technically have a good core of players with additional eligibility who could come back next year, but who knows if they will? It would be nice to have several returning players who have already played together, but I have the feeling that it is going to be another long offseaon of roster construction for the home team.

Sam if you look at the teams in the tournament, both majors and mid-major it looks like they all kept a solid core of players and just filled in with key transfers.

It's been a complete rebuild except for AD the past 5 years It’s stating to look like HScout was the smartest guy on here!

I think that's true of those teams, and will continue to be true of successful teams. I was thinking from a Detroit Titans perspective and what we can expect right now. I don't compare us to tournament teams right now. Most unsuccessful teams (thinking CMU, WMU, Oakland) are already seeing a lot of transfers. But, yes, teams like Michigan State, San Diego State, etc., brought back a good core and added good pieces to that. You're 100 percent right about that.

It will be a complete rebuild next year with only Kyle and Marcus returning. Plus Hurst. Don't know yet about Sonny Johnson Jr. Pink? I know Baller wants him to return. We need Pink to distribute cups of water to the players during timeouts.

Still early days for the Titans but we are getting some unofficial indications about the roster for next season.
Additions: No official announcements yet, but we've got verbal commitments from Coleman, Manciel, and Hurst.
Departures: We know Jones transferred up I-75. Based on public comments, Liddell is working on his pro career options, and Anderson has put in his name for the NBA draft. Anderson isn't getting drafted into the NBA, but I think it's safe to assume he is gone.
There hasn't been any information about anyone else, except for a comment that Stone is still enrolled at the University. Personally, I'm expecting Kyle, Pink, and Marcus to be back, but I'm working under the belief that no one else is returning. Our three commits are all guards, and per comments made at the Titan Club dinner, the Titans are recruiting a 7-4 guy, and a couple of 6-10 players. Looks like it's going to be a near complete roster rebuild again, as PTC suggested a few weeks back. That's a shame, because there were definitely a couple of guys on the roster from last season that I would have liked to see come back.
From comments made at the Titan Club dinner, the staff is getting guys on campus for visits and working hard. It's that time of year where we see a flurry of verbal commits and offers across the college basketball landscape, so I expect we'll here some more Titan news soon. When the new roster will be complete and officially announced is anyone's guess.

That’s all we need is another Brad Callipari taking playing time from guys who should be on the floor while a Davis waits for the pie in the sky that’s never coming.

Anderson tells Rothstein he won't be returning to school, confirming what we expected.
I am always going to consider his career one of those interesting "what might have been" college basketball cases.

I'm hoping that Gerald Liddell decides it's in his best interest to play another year of college basketball. It would be great to see him in a Titans uniform at the start of the 2023-24 season. 😊

With Koka, Liddell and Anderson leaving, we could really use Aramis Parks next year. At 6-9, he and the new transfer from Rhode Island at 6-11, might work well together. The next tallest player is Coleman from Tulane at 6-6.

The Anderson and Liddell situations is why I don't put a lot of emphasis on how much eligibility a potential transfer has. Liddell, Anderson, Stone, and Moss all had the eligibility to play multiple years here. We got one year from Liddell and Anderson. Half a year from Stone. I guess we're still waiting to hear about Parks and Moss, and Stone's potential return for that matter. If I had to bet, I would bet none of them are back, but I might be wrong.
Mo Sylla, Kuol, and Akec had multiple years of eligibility and we got a season from each. Waterman had four years of eligibility when he arrived, and left after two. Maybe things settle down in the next couple of years as the Covid bonus years dry up, and if the NCAA is serious about cracking down on waivers. For now, I'm must considering everyone a one year player until they're not.
