NKU's schedule is complete with the addition of a home game against Akron.
The Norse have 6 home games in non-conference. Besides Akron, they have the league's marquee home game, Florida Atlantic, but after that the quality tails off fast. The other four are against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Long Island, and non-D1 Cumberlands and DePauw. Still it's a good schedule. I would like 6 home games, and FAU is a returning Final Four team. They have a road game just across the river at Cincinnati, and an easy-drive, in-state rival game at Eastern Kentucky, among others.
That leaves just Cleveland State, Milwaukee, and Robert Morris to finish up their schedules.

Cleveland State appears to have finished its non-conference schedule, with a reported buy game at St. Mary's, and reported home games against East Tennessee State and Alabama A&M. The home games are for a CSU-hosted MTE.
By hosting the MTE, CSU ends up with 6 home games in non-con play, plus a home exhibition against little Baldwin-Wallace. One of the regular season home games is against non-D1 Defiance. Interestingly, CSU has no high major opponents unless we count St. Mary's as such. They've also got road dates (which may be buy games) at Bradley and Duquesne. The first post in this thread has all the non-con games around the HL, as we learn of them. Only Milwaukee (3 openings) and Bob Morris (4) are now incomplete.

Milwaukee has added a home game with Southern Mississippi to this year's schedule, a good "get" for an HL team. They've also got Chattanooga on the home schedule. I don't think either game resonates strongly with the casual fan, but those who follow college hoops closely know that those are good home games for an HL team these days. Hopefully they'll get some decent turnout.
The Panthers have 10 of their 11 non-conference games accounted for. Robert Morris is the only other team without a full non-conference schedule revealed to date.

Here's some "this sucks" news for the Horizon. The league's marquee home basketball game this year goes down the tubes--Northern Kentucky's scheduled home game against last year's NCAA Final Four Florida Atlantic squad has been cancelled. Apparently, the Owls bought out the Norse so that they could play Arizona in Las Vegas. I'm guessing that the contract gave NKU no choice, so long as FAU paid the buy-out fee.
I'm guessing a non-D1 team takes the Owls' place on the Norse's schedule. Not pretty. Meanwhile, I'll be rooting for an Arizona blowout.

A co-worker has a family member who is a mens basketball coach at Troy University. He knows I'm a U-D guy and he noticed we're on the University of Mississippi schedule. He told me that Troy University is getting $500,000 to play at Mississippi this season. That explains a lot about why we'll be going there two years in a row now.

That's got to be either a) an error, or b) for football. And it's not for football, at least not this year. Troy did play at Ole Miss last year in football. $500,000 would be 4 times the very top of the going rate for hoops, but normal for football. I think your friend was just confusing multiple reports.

Milwaukee rounds out its schedule with the addition of Luther College, a D-3 school in Decorah, Iowa. The Panthers have 5 non-conference home games, but two of those are against non-D1 opponents, Wisconsin-Stout being the other. Still, home games with Southern Miss, Chattanooga, and St. Thomas are, by today's mid-major standards, relatively attractive.
Two HL teams are still incomplete for non-conference play--Robert Morris, which has two openings, and Northern Kentucky, which thought it was done but got stiffed when their marquee home opponent, Florida Atlantic, bought out the contract. I still expect that will be filled with a non-D1 team.
Right now, Detroit, Oakland, and Robert Morris are the only conference teams without a non-D1 opponent on the regular season schedule. Green Bay, Milwaukee, PFW, YSU, and WSU all have two non-D1 opponents, and IUPUI has 3.

That's a lot of road games for an 11 game non-con schedule.
Anyone know if we make any money from home games, or are they money losers for us?

I don't know if they make money or not, but they own the building and don't pay rent. Are they playing all those road games because they don't make money on home games? That is so short-sighted.
How about booking better home games, and getting a better team ......remember that Field of Dreams movie "Build It and They Will Come" (or something like that).
This program seems like it's stuck in the 50's, D1 basketball is a big business, same like schools like Dayton, St Louis, Xavier etc., and now St Johns, are getting their share of the pie.
This school needs to decide where they want to be, either step up and become a factor or get out like NYU.

Robert Morris announces the addition of a home game against Point Park, an NAIA school in Pittsburg.
That makes it official--Detroit and Oakland will be the only schools in the HL not playing at least 1 game against a non-D1 opponent.
The Colonials still have one empty spot on their schedule--all other non-conference games around the league are "in the program."

Robert Morris adds a second non-D1 school (St. Vincent) to its schedule, and that completes the HL non-conference scheduling. They are all included on first post in this thread.
