Lindy's ranked the conferences and the HL came in at 21, just behind the Atlantic Sun and just ahead of the Summit.

It never got that far. His interest was lukewarm and we were focused on someone local (either Sicko or Domke from Orchard Lake St Mary).

Unfortunately, we are the Summit League now. Might as well join with them and set up Eastern and Western Divisions. Sigh...

Anyone listen to or watch any coverage of the HL Basketball media day? I didn't even know it was happening today.

The Almanac--a cooperative effort of 3 Man Weave, Heat Check, Field of 68, and Verbal Commits--is out, with the Titans picked for 9th. They've got Milwaukee to win it. First post in this thread has all the predictions in a chart form.

Anyone listen to or watch any coverage of the HL Basketball media day? I didn't even know it was happening today. I watched from 11am to 12 noon. We were at 11:40 am. We were preceded by PFW at 11 am and Wright State at 11:20. 10 minutes to each women's team followed by 10 minutes to each men's team. The event took place in the Farmers' Coliseum. A couple of reporters asked questions. The format was Q&A led by a broadcaster. The women's broadcaster called the Wright State coach Kate Achter, but corrected it quickly. Coach Achter was joined by Myonna Hooper and Jada Hampton. Most comments were general. A reporter, likely Kyle from HoriZone Roundtable, asked Achter about the return of Annika Corcoran. She said it was unusual, but that the player called us and was being recruited by other HL teams. Annika liked her time at the school and thought it would be a fitting to end her college career here. Coach Davis was joined by Marcus Tankersley and Donovann Toatley. The broadcaster spent the first 3 minutes rehashing Antoine's career and last season. Davis said that the coaches are placing greater emphasis on conditioning this year after having so many injuries last year. Marcus said that it was actually easier to play with AD because he drew so much defensive attention. Toatley said he hopes to bring Maryland toughness to Detroit and be the extension of the coach on the floor. Hopefully, our crack PR staff will post the clips of each team's interview yesterday so you can see and hear the exact conversations.

The Horizone Roundtable guys have projected the Titans for last place in the Horizon. NKU is their favorite to win the conference. Full prediction in the chart on the first post of this thread.

I will never stop believing we shouldn't win this crappy league every 2nd or 3rd year. If we ever finish last, I will personally ask Coach Davis for his resignation letter. I'm sure he would beat me to the punch on that.
It just goes to show what the Portal has done to college sports. One of the things it does is make pre-season prognostication pretty meaningless. The silver lining is that every year a few teams will blend their mishmash of talent, egos, work disciplines, intelligence, teamwork, and everything else that goes into making up a team into a meaningful unit that comes together quickly over the course of a season and makes noise in the NCAA Tournament. No reason that can't be us this year. But I'm sure most fans feel the same way about their team at this point in the pre-season.

No reason that can't be us this year. But I'm sure most fans feel the same way about their team at this point in the pre-season. Last year, that group's consensus was PFW 1st, UDM 6th, CSU 8th and Milwaukee 9th. Of those 4, the order of finish was Milwaukee 2nd, CSU, 3rd, UDM 8th, and PFW 9th. Pre-season polls tend to be biased towards the known quantities on each team. Teams with returning players get more love than teams that rebuild. Can Davis now coach a team without his son to be greater than the sum of its parts? We'll see the first glimpse in 21 days when we play the exhibition game vs Wayne State. It will be interesting to see which players emerge as leaders and how they handle the adversity of the non-conference schedule.

Where do you see that? He’s not listed on NKU roster. He played 3 yrs at Detroit and 2 at NKU. The lowest # of games played was 17 for the Titans in 2020/21.

When I look at Northern Kentucky mens Basketball Roster 2023-2024 he is listed big as life! That is why I questioned it. It would be his 6th year. He is listed on their roster.
