It's going to be interesting to look at that whole list when it's done, because it's not making much sense to me so far.

Green Bay is listed at #112, predicted for second in the Horizon and a CBI/CIT bid (the apparently don't think the Horizon's #2 will get an NIT bid).
"Final Projection: The difference between a good season and a trip to the NCAA Tournament will come down to the backcourt. Sykes is a great player, but he needs some help. Carrington Love is not the shooter Green Bay is looking for, but he did show promise during his freshman campaign. Josh Humphrey could emerge as a shooter off of the bench after very limited action over the last two years. But it is also feasible that Green Bay does not have to find a shooter to fill the shooting guard spot. Sykes and Brown are good enough shooters and they will get some help, even if it is off of the bench, from players like Botz and Findlay."

I haven't followed this much since the early rankings were so puzzling, but maybe it will make more sense now that it's down to the double digits.
I still think ranking NC State so low was a joke. Or maybe it's not that they were ranked too low, it's the teams ranked ahead of them that I had a problem with.

So we play the following teams that have so far made Sports Madness's list (emphasis on "mad," as in crazy): #144 NC State #141 Oakland (x2) #135 Stony Brook #128 Akron #112 Green Bay (x2) #106 Rhode Island # 94 Wright State (x2) # 89 Toledo (x2)
From USA Today's projected field of 68, so far, we've got: #58 Toledo (x2) #52 Wright State (x2)

If you look at those teams we are playing, I would easily pick NC State to be the best team in that group. I know they lost a ton of players, but they also signed a great recruiting class, and they have a really good head coach.

I don't know that it ever ends up being all that accurate, but at least it's something to talk about in the off-season - and it let's us know the season is coming. College Sports Madness has started its annual preseason countdown of the top 144 teams. Titan opponents are "dominating" the board, so far: #144: North Carolina State. www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/6843#141: Oakland. www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/6849Well, NC State made the tournament and just beat Xavier, so maybe they weren't the worst team on the Sports Madness list after all.
