Davis will get some high-major offers, but he's definitely a kid we should be fighting for. In fact, we need to get this type of kid more often - a Detroit guy, an all-stater, a high major recruit but not a player who can write his ticket to Kentucky, Indiana, Duke or most any school he wants (meaning we realistically can get him). Anton Wilson (well, Flint, but close) fits that definition, and Brundidge too (although we had to wait an extra two years on him ). I'd love to get back to the days of Dick Vitale and Smokey Gaines picking Detroit clean, but recruiting has changed enough that that's not likely in the short term. But we can certainly compete for players like Davis and need to get our fair share.

the only problem is that we only have 2 scholarships unless other current players leave and if we took 2 transfers and nobody leaves the transfers must sit out next.

Well, we don't have anyone signed yet at this point, so I think it's worth exploring all possibilities. I wouldn't turn down any good player who was interested in the Titans at this point. Particularly if they are a big man.

I see 6-7 Shayok Shayok of Bradley. We recruited him out of his high school and his sister Yar Shayok was a Lady Titan, graduating this spring after being named Horizon 6th Player of the Year.
Of course, he may not help. After a reasonable freshman year (19 minutes per game, 3.5 ppg, 3.1 rpg) he averaged just 7 minutes per game this season. It's not like the MVC is the Big 10.

That's a good point. We have enough guys on the roster who are tall but don't contribute. It would be a mistake to recruit just based on height. :-)

DeBerry is transferring to Hutchinson Community College for his sophomore season. Any thoughts on how this effects his chances to become a Titan?

AJ Turner of De La Salle is transferring to a school in New Hampshire and reclassifying into the class of 2015.
