"Remember The Titans," says it all, it should be a city-wide theme.

Schedule local high school games prior to or after Titans home game. This is a great idea - I wonder if there is a NCAA rule on the matter, then again their rules are becoming less and less relevant. I've always always said we need to pursue the idea of Calihan as a mecca for metro Detroit basketball. The catholic league must always have their tourney there, the state tourney must always have their quarterfinals there. We need kids dreaming of playing at Calihan as a sign of them having success. Also...let's not run out of concessions for the 400 people that come to our games. (its a low bar we are starting from here)

These are suggestions I sent to Athletics the Spring of 2022, some might be dated or year-specific but most would be things that could be incorporated into a Marketing & Promotions plan going forward. ... “Remember the Titans” events to honor individuals who helped build the school’s basketball tradition: ... There might be trademark or copyright infringement issues. Perhaps a tweak: "Remember These Titans"? However, it should be used in a campaign to promote ALL Detroit Mercy sports, not just basketball.

As part of the "Remember the Detroit Titans" halftime show we should also bring back the Unicycle Teams with their 10 ft tall unicycle!

Call me old fashion but get better food and some W.
I would set up a location for food cart(s) to be on campus to stir up buzz for gameday. Have them come at lunch during the weekday games get students over by the stadium to get a tailgate atmosphere going. Also have them supply food in the stadium. If the food is good you will get people coming to games earlier to grab some food. This will help you sell merch. If people are walking around more on campus you have a greater chance of them spending money. The food carts I wouldn't charge them to set up but ask for a donation to the athletic department. Use social media to let people know what type of food cart will be there on game day. That is if you change up food carts coming to games.

There are now 4 people in the Athletic Marketing Department for the upcoming season. Can't remember when there were more than 2! Hopefully this will be the beginning for good things to happen with the sports programs. There has been positive feedback from athletics on the Fan Engagement suggestions as well, just need to continue to get them to "Walk the Talk" and implement some of the ideas! Liked the Food Truck/Food Cart idea from JDetroitTitan. Good food at Calihan will definitely be a plus. Please keep those great ideas and suggestions coming!

At the end of the game (Great Overtime Win) the Men's Basketball Team went to the sidelines and High Fived the fans on the way out of the arena. Not sure who enjoyed this more...the players of the fans! This is a start of some new traditions at Calihan Hall. By the way, Coach Monty and the entire coaching staff are all about trying to make connections with the fans. Go Titans!
