The other guy who catches my eye on this list is Eke Donatus, who some are now listing at 7-0 tall. Nigerian, playing at UD High. Said to be very raw, very thin. Let's send our Nigerians out there, play the UD connection, and get to work on this young man!

The friend who attended the Indiana Tech with me said he had recently watched a couple of U of D High games and both Donatus and Gregory-Mike were promising young players that the Titans should be recruiting.

Sam - I'm assuming Vince Baldwin is still the man with Prep Spotlight Magazine. I remember subscribing maybe 10 or 15 years ago (when he had his own website) and I felt his rankings were very good. Any chance you can post his 2015 & 2016 rankings (you have already been kind enough to post 2014 & 2017 in their corresponding threads)? I realize typing those names is a real pain, but if you have a few minutes in the next few weeks, it would be greatly appreciated by those of us who don't have access to purchasing/picking up a copy.. I am actually working on posting 2015 and 2016 today, TJ. I thought some of you guys might enjoy perusing the lists as much as I do. I am off work today and kind of like the idea of a relaxed day at home, so I might get them both posted today. Sam - Thanks for posting all the Prep Spotlight Rankings by class. It's much appreciated!

Not making the top 100 on Jermaine would disappoint but not surprise me; him not making a top 25 list does not surprise me at all. Steve Schwanda (www.alleyesonuhoops.com) only has him ranked #5 in Michigan (Bowen, Xavier Tillman, Jaron Foulds, Donnie Tillman, then Jackson). It's pretty tough for a 5'7" guy to crack the top 25 prospect list.

Had I given it some more thought before posting, I would not have been surprised by his exclusion. It is, after all, the top 25. Best case scenario for my regarding Jackson is that the continues to improve, gets more high major offers, and still decides to follow his Dad's footsteps and become a Titan. Sort of like the Ray Jr. situation.

Twitterverse says Jermaine Jackson, Jr., will attend Word of God Prep in North Carolina, playing for coach Jerry Stackhouse.

Twitterverse says Jermaine Jackson, Jr., will attend Word of God Prep in North Carolina, playing for coach Jerry Stackhouse. My immediate thought is, that's not a good move. But that's due more to the negative stories we've seen about some Michigan kids going the prep school route. Hopefully, it works out well for Jermaine, but we've seen how guys drop out of sight once they leave the state for prep school.

Another of our 2017 targets is going to the prep route as Cass Tech's Donnie Tillman announces his plan to transfer to Findley Prep. Generally speaking, I hate to see basketball talent leaving the state like that, and more specifically, I thinks this move hurts our chances to land Tillman. One of the things that the Titan staff does well is take advantage of the opportunities they have to build relationships with recruits via unofficial visits and Coach Ray's camps. We lose that geographical advantage when a player moves out to Vegas. Also, while player migration to these basketball factories is good for the coaches and administrators there, I don't think it does that much for the player. Especially a kid like Tillman, who plays in Detroit in the PSL. If he can play, people will notice him. Playing at Detroit Consortium hasn't hurt Josh Jackson's recruiting. I don't think it hurt Tillman and Diane to play at Pershing. Same with the kids from Detroit Douglas. On the other hand, you can get hurt going to a prep school, as the cases of Richie Lewis, Trevor Manuel, and others would show. I don't think AJ Turner's stock has been helped or hurt by his prep school transfer. Below are a couple of articles on Tillman from WCHB. Lauren Beasley is young, and her writing could use a little polish, but she does a nice job covering the local sports scene. I first noticed her when she did an interview with Pat O after he committed to the Titans. She had that nice article on Lacey James this week, too. wchbnewsdetroit.newsone.com/3110665/rising-star-donnie-tillman-talks-about-his-decision-to-transfer-from-cass-tech-to-findlay-prep/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=WCHBNewsDetroit-Subscribers&utm_campaign=WCHB%20News%20Detroit%20Daily%20Dynamic%20%202014-07-31&omcamp=es-wchb-nlwchbnewsdetroit.newsone.com/3110627/cass-tech-2017-f-donnie-tillman-talks-about-his-latest-offers-his-growing-college-interest-and-more/
