Missouri is hosting several top recruits on October 10, in what is one of the biggest recruiting days I can remember a team having. They will have three top 50 recruits from the class of 2015 on official visits and several other recruits on unofficial visits. Nice to be able to pull that kind of crowd. The Mizzou assistants are well connected with the AAU and prep school scene. From the article: "Missouri bringing in heavy hitters next month" There were some questions regarding whether new Mizzou coach Kim Anderson would be able to recruit at a high level. By keeping ace recruiter Tim Fuller and hiring former Huntington Prep (W.Va.) coach Rob Fulford, Anderson made key moves in attempting to alleviate some concerns. And if the weekend of Oct. 10 is any indication, the new staff at Missouri is already making waves in the grassroots and high school circuit. Sources have informed CBSSports.com that the Tigers have a monster weekend planned, bringing in 10 visitors. Here's the rundown: • Official visits: Isaiah Briscoe (No. 9 in 2015), Antonio Blakeney (No. 17 in 2015), Thomas Bryant (No. 25 in 2015) • Unofficial visits: Jayson Tatum (No. 1 in 2016), Miles Bridges (No. 23 in 2016), Michael Porter (No. 4 in 2017), Ted Kapita (No. 37 in 2015), Kobi Simmons (No. 15 in 2016), Curtis Jones (No. 56 in 2016), Tyler Cook (No. 57 in 2016) www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24730892/notebook-pgs-set-decision-dates-mizzou-plots-monster-weekendM'zoo got a lot of attention for the super recruiting weekend they scheduled, but it didn't result in commitments with the main targets on official visits. Isaiah Briscoe ended up at Kentucky, Antonio Blankeney chose LSU, and Thomas Bryant chose Indiana. They still managed a decent 2015 class, but no top 100 players.

We've talked before about the many new terms used to describe players today, such as "stretch four". Twice this year I have heard a new one: Power wing. Not sure what the heck that is.

Wow. That's a tough does of reality. And totally in line with what I have heard about Coach Cal.

I didn't feel like starting a new thread, so I'll stick this here. Some folks follow PrepBallReport.com, a recruiting gossip site started some time back by Steven Manrique as a rather audacious 14 year old. Manrique graduated from UD Jesuit this spring and has enrolled at Loyola of Chicago, where he will be a student manager for the hoops team. Per his twitter. twitter.com/PrepBallReportWonder if he'll continue to track Michigan recruiting scene. Update: No, but site will continue. Here's his note. Ambitious, talented young man. theprepballreport.com/2015/08/17/oh-times-goes-by-so-fast/

Saw this tweet from Josh Hall, who de-committed from Rice. Somehow, I don't think the Coach at Rice was happy, no matter how nice the tweet was. :-) Hall was a big recruiting success for Rice, a four star Rivals recruit who started getting more attention.
Josh Hall @josh33hall 4h4 hours ago I would like to announce that I have decided to reopen my recruitment. I would like to personally thank Coach Rhodes and Rice University.

There are a few sites keeping a "high school transfer list", tracking the transfers from one HIGH SCHOOL to another among some of the top recruits in the country. I refuse to click on the link to read them. Things are way out of hand.

How is it possible that at a 2016 recruit can decide in October of his senior year that he is going to re-classify to 2015? Josh Gershon @joshgershon 4m4 minutes ago 2016 Santa Monica (Calif.) center Jayce Johnson will reclassify to 2015 and commit shortly: foxs.pt/1FX3nA3
