This is completely ridiculous That's just dumb. These kids are getting hyped up too much too soon, with the result often being uncoachable kids and unmet expectations. It's not good for anyone.

This is completely ridiculous Not cool. Always makes me wonder how much kid stuff he's missed out on in his 10 or 11 years. I'd never root against a kid and this little guy has skills, but I'll root against a dad pushing his son too hard. Odds are great he ends up getting torn up at a Nike ABCD camp 7 years from now by some kid who didn't touch a basketball until 8th grade.

I wonder where Detroit would have ranked in 2000. My guess is quite a bit higher.

Arkansas went 28-9 last year and made it to the Elite Eight. They have added 11 new players this spring: 5 transfers and 6 freshmen. It's a new day in college basketball, even compared to five years ago. You never used to see that much roster turnover in a good team, especially when there was no coaching change.

It's all AAU ball now.

Coaches contemplating spending less time on the road as the portal grows in recruiting importance.

Coaches contemplating spending less time on the road as the portal grows in recruiting importance. Maybe coach Davis was ahead of his time in 2019 when he stated that he hadn't been on the road recruiting in years...and that he recruited off of youtube highlight reels.

Of course, this is assuming you actually have signed newcomers and have them on campus to mold (& don't still have 6 open spots). Let's go Davis - sign some good players and do it soon

Think we might see a future transfer portal entry with this guy?
Dior Johnson, a class of 2022 four star recruit, recently committed to Pitt.
High schools attended: Findlay Prep, IMG, Oak Hill, Centennial, Prolific Prep, and Southern California Academy.
Previously committed to Syracuse and Oregon before choosing Pitt.
A couple of years ago, my niece loved a song called, "No roots." Seems applicable.

Seems as soon as he gets somewhere or commits to a college they're no longer good enough for him and he starts looking for a greener pasture.
