CMU just announced a stinker of a non-con schedule. It's got 3 non-DI opponents (Alma, Central Pennsylvania, and Concordia, plus an exhibition with Saginaw Valley), Youngstown State, McNeese State, SIU-Edwardsville, Grand Canyon, Bradley, and a tournament at CMU with Maine, Arkansas Pine Bluff, and Valpo. And a game at Northwestern. Arguably, the exhibition with Saginaw Valley is their most attractive home game, although they'll build up the Grand Canyon game as the return of Dan Majerle.
CMU had a pretty good program back in the 70s and 80s, putting out players such as Majerle, Dan Roundfield, James McElroy, and Ben Poquette, to name just a few. My, my, my have things sunk in Mt. Pleasant.

Congratulations to the Chips for winning the final edition of the Great Alaska Shootout. CMU beat Cal State Bakersfield 75-72 in the final. The Great Alaska Shootout isn't what it used to be, but it is a well known early season tourney steeped in history. Good for the Chips. Cool fact: CMU Coach Keno Davis's father, Dr. Tom Davis, also won the GA Shootout as a head coach. www.cmuchippewas.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/112617aaa.html

Not terribly surprised. I watched them a handful of times (including live where they gave Michigan a fight at Crisler) at Shawn Roundtree impressed me more out of the two of them.

Yeah, Roundtree looked more impressive to me, and CMU also signed Larry Austin, the grad transfer from Vanderbilt. That back court was going to be crowded. If Peppers wanted to be sure about playing time, he's right to look elsewhere.

So where ever Peppers lands will be his 4th school.
Hey, we're a team with potentially zero scholarship guards returning.

He spent a year at Olympic College (a juco), a year at Laramie County CC, a year at Cleveland State in which he was injured and did not play, last year at CMU, (I don't know why he didn't have to sit a year when transferring from CSU to CMU, but apparently he didn't), and now Nicholls.
