The Chips land guard Jesse Zarzuela, a 6-3 transfer from Coppin State. Averaged 15 ppg but not a good shooting percentage. Brings experience.

Here's someone I'd take. Was only a freshman last season. A 6' guard. From Chicago - Maybe Dildy can finally get us one

Strange timing on the transfer, as it comes after the May deadline ensuring immediate eligibility. I wouldn't expect him to consider the Titans, who play in a lesser conference and also have other issues.

The Chips are reportedly traveling to Marquette on November 10. Nice payday and opportunity for CMU.

Kevin Miller hits the transfer portal. Miller had a super freshman year in 2022, but injuries cut him off this year after 4 games (averaging 18.5 ppg). He'll likely be in high demand, and this is a blow to CMU after holding on to him last year.

Central finished the season 10-21, 5-13, failing to make the MAC tournament. Rough season, and they suffered a blow early in the season when their best player, Kevin Miller, was lost for the season to injury after only four games. The high mark of the season was the 63-61 victory over Michigan.
Hope for the future came in the form of freshman guard Reggie Bass, who was named MAC Freshman of the Year. Bass averaged 12 points on the season, with a season high of 40 against NIU. Bass was 21-24 from the free throw line in that game. I'm sure the CMU staff is hoping he doesn't hit the portal.
Junior guard Jesse Zararuela averaged 16 ppg on the season and should be a key factor returning next year, if he comes back.
Edit: Shortly after I posted this, I read that Zararuela had put his name in the transfer portal. Looking for his third college, fifth if you count the two junior colleges he played for.
