In an example of the situation all mid major coaches fear, Towson shooting guard Four McGlynn is leaving Townson as a graduate transfer. This past season as a red shirt junior, he averaged 12 ppg while shooting 37% from three and 92% from the line At 6-2, 180, he'll get some high major interest. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/56749/four-mcglynn

Marquette is losing a key part of next year's rotation, Steve Taylor, a 6-7, 240 junior forward. Taylor is a Chicago native who started 14 games and played 22 minutes per game. If he was a sophomore rather than a junior, I would be willing to see the Titans make a run for him. but I'd rather not burn two years of scholarship for one year of play in this case. On the other hand, he had decent production and we can always use a big guy who produces. I guess we'll have to see. If he's thinking HL he's probably thinking UIC, Milwaukee, or Green Bay, anyway. collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/18/marquette-announces-that-junior-forward-steve-taylor-jr-will-transfer/

Tom Crean has the reputation for running off players to free up scholarship space. Hoosier fans call it the Spring Creaning. So far, IU has announced that two players are transferring, Stanford Robinson and Max Hoetzel.

Leo Edwards is a 6-8/225 power forward from Detroit who is transferring from Louisiana Tech. He was a red shirt freshman this past season. He's got good size, but he didn't produce much at Louisiana Tech, so he's not someone who jumps out as someone the Titans should pursue. despite his local roots. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/gamelog/_/id/66737/leo-edwards

Dave Reynolds @davereynolds2 · 30m 30 minutes ago Bradley confirms 6 transfers: Josh Cunningham, Tramique Sutherland, Xzavier Taylor, Jermaine Morgan and Kendahl Amerson and Nate Wells. Given their recent performance, that's probably good. Wardle may find it tough to stock next year's team, but at least he can start shaping it as he likes. Bradley had just 1 senior this year, so that gives Wardle 7 scholarships to play with. Wouldn't be surprised if he holds 1 or 2 scholarships open given how late it is in the season. Sutherland is probably the only one they'll miss a lot anyway. Maybe Cunningham. He keeps 3 of the team's top 6 in average minutes and scoring from last season, so he'll have something.

They'll definitely miss Cunningham, who was on the all freshman team and was an ESPN four star recruit from a powerhouse Chicago Public League high school and a strong AAU program. His final three were Bradley, DePaul, and Indiana. He's a great athlete. I'd like to see him end up with the Blue Demons. I think Wardle will do a good job there, and it's true that he probably is glad to have the open scholarships.

Old friend PJ Boutte is transferring from IUPUI. As a graduate, he'll have immediate eligibility for 1 season at some lucky school.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm in that "lucky school" comment? :-) I feel bad for PJ. He was probably had his best opportunity at U of D where he would have been given every chance to win the starting PG spot after Ray Jr. left. I'm sure he was discouraged by his lack of PT as a sophomore, but going to IUPUI didn't work out for him, either. A little more patience might have paid off for him. Good luck to him at his new destination, although I can't imagine that there is a big market out there for him at this time.

In fact, one of the guards who played ahead of PJ last year at IUPUI graduates. Where is he going to go to get more PT than at IUPUI, other than D-II? And (rhetorical question, here) where can he play closer to home? I don't recall the sequence, but I think PJ probably made the decision to transfer in 2013 before it was certain that little Ray was going to the NBA (and certainly before we knew of Calliste to Oregon, though that would not have affected PJ's future as much). Transfers want to declare in March/April before schools commit their last scholarships, and if I recall Ray did not declare until the last possible moment in late May. So that may have forced his hand. I've been a bit skeptical of what PJ would have contributed to us, but you are exactly right, had he stayed he was pretty much guaranteed good minutes once Ray declared, and once Calliste announced his transfer the presumptive starting backcourt would have been PJ and CB. And he definitely would have helped us some.

And he definitely would have helped us some. Yep, seems like an odd transfer. I thought he'd finish out his collegiate career at IUPUI, playing in his hometown and perhaps seeing more minutes. I hope he wasn't "encouraged" to leave. I think the coach who was there when he decided to transfer to IUPUI got fired after the 2013-14 season, so that couldn't have helped him there. I looked up the date of the official announcement of Ray's decision to leave for the NBA and it was April 27. By checking the old board, it looks like Indy broke the news of PJ transferring on May 9. Obviously, things might have been going on behind the scenes, so it's hard to say what factored into PJ's decision. Came across this article in the Indianapolis Star that describes what is probably the highlight moment of PJ's career. www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/2014/11/22/iupui-mens-basketball-knocks-off-ball-state-in-overtime/19415629/

Trey Lewis to Louisville. Apparently, Louisville is also in the mix for another impact fifth year transfer. The rich get richer.
