Tough break for IU basketball.
Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein 6h6 hours ago Indiana's James Blackmon will be out the next 6-8 weeks due to a torn meniscus, per release. Should be back by September. #iubb

Wow, Illinois is embarrassed on their foreign tour by a Dutch team. They won their first game on the tour 68-63 yesterday, but this loss certainly puts a damper on the enthusiasm.
Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein 2m2 minutes ago Illinois falls to the Dutch national team by 27 in game 2 of its foreign tour. Going to be a work in progress for Illini until a PG emerges.

Rutgers gets screwed in the 11th hour by their top recruit for 2016. I'm sure they appreciate the "thanks", though. From Twitter: Kwe Parker @ijump_tooMuch After much thought and prayer, I have decided to decommit from Rutgers & re-open my recruiting. I thank Rutgers for their time & interest.

The Big Ten is having some rough moments in the non-conference, and it continued this weekend.
On Friday, Maryland squeezed by Rider, with the seven point margin of victory being the biggest lead the Terps had. Rider was 0-2 coming in. (Note: Lacey James has only played a total of five minutes in three games for Rider this year. Puzzling.) Michigan was beaten soundly at home by an unranked Xavier team, 86-70. Minnesota beat a winless Missouri State team by five. Wisconsin lost by ten to Georgetown. Ohio State had a shocking loss to Texas Arlington and Penn State got beat by 26 by Duquesne. Northwestern needed OT to beat Columbia. Michigan State did what was expected, doubling up Arkansas Pine Bluff, 92-46.
Saturday's results also had some stinkers for the Big 14, with Illinois losing to Chattanooga and Rutgers slipping past a winless Central Arkansas team. Purdue blew out Old Dominion.
