Another AAC team got some good news today. CJ Walker, who was a freshman at Oregon this past season, is transferring to UCF. Excellent pick up for Coach Johnny Dawkins. Walker was rated a five star recruit in the recruiting class of 2019. Should do well in the AAC. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4592403/cj-walker

Tulane got some good news on a couple of waiver requests. Incoming transfers Jaylen Forbes and Kevin Cross are eligible to play right away. Both were freshman at Power Five schools last year. Forbes, a four star recruit as a high school senior, played 10 minutes per game at Alabama, averaging three points per game. He's a 6-4 guard. Cross averaged 7 points and 4 boards per game from the power forward spot for Nebraska last season. He checks in at 6-8, 240. Both players are expected to make an immediate impact for Coach Hunter, Coach McCallum, and the Green Wave. Props to Tulane for landing two players who were sought after by high major programs this off season.
Waivers are coming fast this summer.

Houston lands small forward Robbie Armbrester, a 2021 recurit ranked in the top 150 in the class by both Rivals and 24/7 Sports. He had seemed like a likely Georgia Tech commit, as he had taken four visits to GTU, but Kelvin Sampson closed the deal. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2021/robbie-armbrester-256777

Johnny Dawkins at UCF pulls off a real steal by landing four star guard Darius Johnson. The young man was also considering Alabama and Providence, but Dawkins was able to get him down to Florida. Should be an impact player right away for UCF. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2021/darius-johnson-251536

This is a long expose' type story, that seems typical of our times, all over the news spectrum. One certainly hopes it's not true or actual fact. One has to wonder if true how the story never got out. These evens were not done in private, certainly one would think somebody would have reported the events to the school.
But if true, they were part of the "Bobby Knight" era, that thankfully are gone.

The Shockers have had a lot of players transfer in the past couple of years. Seems like someone would have talked about it on record somewhere. I didn't know that Marshall was known as kind of a "nut", but some of the comments from those who follow college basketball indicate that he's got that rep. News to me.

Pretty common of the players who do not do well under a coach to try and justify their own disappointments and failures. I always felt Bobby Knight would be one of the few coaches I would trust with my sons well being. Players like Thomas, Mays and Benson who flourished under Knight were never critical of him and aimed a lot of their success to him. I think what he consumed from Fred Taylor was passed on in his toughness as could also be seen in Havilcheck, Lucas, Sanders, Nowell and Sigfreid. Seems like todays Athletes are a lot more fragile then their predecessors.
