I see him listed as a 2018 and a 2019 graduate. You are correct. I don't have the time to research it right now - could he be attending prep school this upcoming year?? The most recent info lists him with the class of 2019. At any rate, he appears to have a relationship with father and son Davis. I wonder if this offer could persuade him to commit right now as part of the class of 2018. Maxprep's and his HS list his 2017-2018 season as a senior and a graduate.

he's 17, so he probably started school early... thus making him able to graduate early or re-join his original class. I liked his film, good hands and really lanky for 6'1 looks like he's got top end speed and can stretch the floor.

Prep Hoops ranks Romeo Weems #27, Rocket Watts #41, and Harlond Beverly #72 nationally in the Class of '19. The Titans offered all three early but will not get any. Two other Michiganders in the top 250: Donovan Moore is ranked #171 and Carrington McCaskill #246. Both also had a Titan offer from the old regime. Moore, however, has already committed to Toledo.
Flint's Terry Armstrong, who has played his high school ball in Arizona, is #54.

Here are the top 5 per 247 Sports (CBS): 1. Romeo Weems 6-6 New Haven - Verbal to DePaul2. Mark Watts 6-2 Detroit Old Redford 3. Harlond Beverly 6-4 Southfield Christian (but leaving the state for prep academy) 4. Jalen Thomas 6-9 Detroit U-D Jesuit 5. Carrington McCaskill 6-6 Detroit Renaissance Wouldn't it be great for Davis to pull in Thomas and his UDJ teammate, guard Daniel Friday? 247 has an updated list. Here are their top Michigan kids, with national ranking: 1. Rocket Watts (#44) 2. Romeo Weems (#50) 3. Harlond Beverly (#74) 4. Tray Jackson (#100) 5. Jalen Thomas (#113) Also, Terry Armstrong of Flint, but long gone to private school in Arizona, is ranked #52.

Beverly all the way up from basic "Under the Radar Guy" to #56 on Rivals and holding an offer from Louisville. Did he decide to leave the state to get more exposure and recognition? Because everything he is getting now he got while playing in Michigan.

Why not stay in your home state and become a legend?

Why not stay in your home state and become a legend? Yeah, it certainly seems to be the "cool" thing to do among a lot of players and parents. But I think Cassius Winston turned out pretty well playing in Michigan his entire scholastic career. I can't think of a player who left the state and significantly raised his stock. Miles Bridges and Josh Jackson were already ranked among the top players in the nation while playing in Flint and Detroit. On the other hand, I can think of several players who dropped significantly after making that kind of move.

Raising their stock might not be the only reason kids leave for prep schools or out of state. Some need the academic discipline which a prep school can provide, particularly if situated in a remote location. Another reason is to get kids out of undesirable places where safety and peer pressure may be a negative.

So Rocket decided just 27 or more offers, including the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, UConn, Maryland, etc. didn't necessitate moving out for more "exposure?" Who's advising this young man?

Another reason is to get kids out of undesirable places where safety and peer pressure may be a negative. That could be the case for Miles Bridges, but he didnt have to go all the way to W.Virginia. He could've attended school in Grand Blanc or suburban Detroit. Josh Jackson was already residing in the suburbs of Detroit (Southfield), his prep team was sponsored by Under Armour. Guess what...Jackson signed an endorsement deal with Under Armour after his one year at Kansas.
